  1. Gear wrenches are your friend for the valve covers...make sure you hit up Milesfox's timing belt guide. Right here. It will alleviate any questions about timing belts.
  2. Probably a redundant question...you have the plug wires in the right spots on the cap?
  3. Well, there is an outter pipe that contains a smaller pipe. Like a shielding. Maybe the first one missing this. Or is the hole itself diff sizes?
  4. 180k is high mileage? I guess so, since my RX has 124k. If you can find a non running ea82....there ya go, or you can probably sell the parts more than you paid for the car?
  5. Find a none running EA82 and put the good engine in it. If the sub-frame is bent, I wouldn't spend much time trying to restore it. But if it's not, anything from an ea82 would fit, but I think in 1987 the bumpers changed and some other things.
  6. He PM'd me about parts after I PM'd him about the lack of a calendar delivery. Wtf.
  7. That just means it has oil in it, it's a Subaru, if it's not leaking oil, it's out.
  8. I'd assume they are wider. I don't have an EA82 with a stock rack anymore, I can go measure my EA81 though.
  9. If you're talking about something that mounts in the gutter, no. EA81's are narrower than EA82's.
  10. You want an EJ tranny in there?
  11. Not to steal business. But you can do it yourself, there's a write up on how to replace the belts...ask how to replace the pump. It's good knowledge, a great feeling of accomplishment, and saves you money. Here's the belt procedure. The engine doesn't have to be out of the car.
  12. I assumed he used a light, probably did.
  13. Very nice:headbang:. I wish that was "Just behind my house" that scenery is awesome!
  14. You need to put the car on 0' TDC For the #1 cylinder and then put the distributor in, pointed at the #1 plug wire. It's probably a tooth off. Then re-time per your vehicle.
  15. The water pump depends on if you have a mechanical fan attached to it or not, I believe. As for a parts source...check this link out. I recommend the "SubaruPartsForYou" site. Since you have the T-Belts off already, replace the oil pump seals, front crank seal, cam seals (There is a regular seal and a o-ring that sits behing the plate that holds the regular seal). So, once you replace the cam seals, front seal, and oil pump seals, it shouldn't leak anymore...or much...it's a Subaru, they always leak slightly. Here's a link to a timing belt procedure.
  16. I saw your hatch and brat while going to the avalanche command post, at the railyard. Are you on here?
  17. This is a blow to the trust that this community has with one another.
  18. I've done that. But he doesn't have a welder and he's probably trying to make it easier on the guy that does have a welder.
  19. Dude that sucks...I hope it isn't for good, I always hate to see stuff like this happen. :-\
  20. How familar are you with the EA engine? Did you do the timing belts right?
  21. Grounds? Do youhave adequate grounds?
  22. All ea82 rear axles are the same.
