  1. AMEN! I love those things. I just wished they had them in the offset wrenches like these . Harbor Freight has those, but only standard. They'd be good for that lower b!+ch bolt on the driver side tranny.
  2. I've heard that sometimes all they want is to be fed and beer:drunk:. But now-a-days, maybe some gas money.
  3. I'd assume these, if he's using them again...but you never know.
  4. That's what they are, they are a metal ring cover with rubber to be general. They cost 2.63each at http://www.rockauto.com and you need 2. You have to take the cam cases off each side of the engine. Maybe you can talk a board member to help you out, if they live close, it's not too hard of a job...when the engine is out of the car.
  5. Check your oil , if that is good, Change your oil and use a subaru oil filter. Use a good name brand oil, I use castrol high mileage 20X50. Then run it for a while...if the ticking doesn't go away, you may have to reseal or replace your oil pump. But, the ticking isn't harmfull, my RX has it most the time. Just embarassing. Does it sound like the ticking is from each side of the engine or a certain side/piston? I'd drive it like it is. Also, welcome to the world of EA82. That is referred to as the "Tick of Death (TOD)" But it doesn't mean your motor is gunna go, just a funny name.
  6. I've only had these things break more than any Subaru I've had. You'll see that things break on anything, no matter what the platform. Cool video though:popcorn:. I like the bumper.
  7. So it doesn't move in any gear?
  8. Uhhh.... J/k I want a meet in greet! I'm upi in Orygun though.
  9. So merciful!! That mad me laugh pretty hard.
  10. Congrats on the two years. My G/F and I just had our 7, yeah we got together in high school at 15, ok done with my life story. What about spare hoses? Spare axle? I think you'll be just fine though. It's always good to carry extra stuff, cause you probably won't need it, but if you didn't have it, you would need it. And a good jack with a jack stand? Duct tape!!:headbang:I've seen that hold a 1" gash in a coolant hose.
  11. We have the ea81 lifts down. Working on EA82s. And for a rear bumper, do you mean the box type or the tube type. I just made a front and rear set of tubes for a member and it had a 2" receiver in the rear.
  12. I'm still waiting for mine...kinda sucks being 2 months into the year.
  13. Almost over 2 months into this year and still no calendar.
  14. Don't pull the engine just to do the timng belts, but if you plan on a complete reseal...yeah...best to pull it.
  15. Most definately. Especially the driver's side.
  16. EA82 Bumpers are the same between GL and DL, right? Is there a difference between years, I forgot when they went with the more inset blinker (1985?). Could I take a bumper off of a GL and put it on a DL? I tried searching, but after 4 years, that search engine still has me confused.
  17. Any good lincoln or miller will work for your case. Like a little kit from home depot would be fine, but if you want to make structure stuff, you should look into a higher amperage unit. Check craigslist.
  18. I believe you'll need a new belt. Just check to make sure that your belt will route properly.
  19. Already addressed, we're working on EA82 and more ea81 versions. THanks for the years though.
  20. Maybe it was on it's last leg anyways, and the extra weight of the full tank just broke it's back? I dunno. That happened to me when I filled my tank, the Outback blew a head gasket.
  21. Are they still held to the strict inspection standards?
  22. I got the quote... ...from the USMB.And I just decided to live with it.
  23. The aviation industry has strict standards. I forgot what the rules are, but the engines are overhauled every so many hours. As GD said in the other thread, something along the lines of, complications at 20,000feet are deadly. I'm not too sure if many use an ea82 for aviation though, with timing belts and that junk.
