  1. I wonder what Professional he's gunna consult that isn't on this board? I don't think anyone who isn't on this board go be a "Professional" in Subaru.
  2. Try this out http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/USRM2/Transmission/Governor/ATgovenorclean.htm
  3. I'd get some exhaust gaskets and studs and put those on and see if any exhaust comes out of that hole. I mean aluminum melts at 660' C! I highly doubt that your exhaust got that hot...imagine what the pistons would look like.
  4. Well I guess I should ask you if there is any exhaust coming out of this hole. That should have been my first question. BUt was that bolt missing when you got under there?
  5. I've seen those holes on every EA82 head that I have handled. It freaked me out at first...but I guess it's to prevent water from building up in a void in the head.
  6. Why is that bolt missing? Are you sure that's not the casting hole they have there so water drains. And the lack of a bolt/stud caused your gasket to blow out and resulting the melting of the timing cover?
  7. All the parts should interchange...engines and everything...the only diff would be the intake on the engine (Carb, SPFI, MPFI) and the pistons. Anyone know of any other differences?
  8. It does sound like too thick of oil. Especially if it goes away when it warms up.
  9. I believe the coolant temp sensor is located to top left of the throttle body. It is between the manifold and Crankcase vent.
  10. Does anyone have pictures of an "O Ringed" engine? I would like to see what it looks like.
  11. All the axle nuts on the front of my Subarus have been 36mm.
  12. Nevermind I noticed the parts list on the link he gave has a 3.7 diff. No need to read farther. Hey... I read that he'll be using a 3.7 rear diff...is that tranny a 3.9? He didn't state (or I didn't read) that the tranny was 3.7. I thought all dual ranges are 3.9, even the FTAWD HEY I SAID DON'T READ any farther!! :-)
  13. Does that auto have a hydaulic valve motor in it?
  14. Breaking in a clutch...I was told by some mechanics back in my dark pre-sube days...that you need to drive it lightly for 500 miles or so. In a stop and go enviroment. I never knew why...but I did have the new clutch slip a little when I did try to get on it.
  15. I don't know for sure, but I would believe you could.
  16. How long did you break in the clutch...isn't it supposed to be 350miles or something.
  17. Yeah I have an 89 RX with 4at. It's great. I'm impressed with the Auto tranny. I had a 3at in my ea81...that was crap. But this tranny is nice. But I would like the FTAWD 5spd with center diff lock. That's a good car...too bad you don't like them.
  18. Hello all. I went to a junkyard today...they have quite a few subarus. (Ea82s) I might go back saturday if there is enough interest. There are a couple Turbo Wagons and a gl-10 (auto) with rear brakes still. 2 XTs both maroon. One is Turbo one is not. Both are autos. Turbo XT has no intake or seats. Need anything? PM me with what you want and how much you'd pay for it. By Friday night please. Thanks. Justin
  19. What's a NA spider intake worth? The whole thing, wiring harness and TB...everything. What about with no injectors?
  20. That's creepy. Do you happen to pass by them at the same time, every day? I mean same time to the second. What about stopping before you go under them and see if they go out.
  21. I dug into their store. Look what I found 85-94 XT COUPE / 1800 SERIES TURBO STAGE 3 CLUTCH KIT
  22. I believe your shafts should work. I know when I did my 3at to 5spd swap...the axles from the automatic worked on the 5speed. All the hubs are the same
  23. turbone, do you have anymore pics of that RX? It looks JUST like the one i bought 2 weeks ago. Maybe a pic of the liscense plate?
