  1. after replacing crank pully, radiator, , now seems like power steering pump, when the belt slipped off could the power steering pump got damaged ? chrip chrip .? or after market belt, ?
  2. got a chance to a 95 outback sport , 228,000mi a/t alittle rust, L model, needs a few things, fuel door, work on crank window, oil leaks , but cheap:grin:
  3. not mine , but after i put everything back togather , noticed coolant leaking from bottom of radiator , maybe i hit it with something , not sure, , but 186,000mi on forester, and oem, so needing replaced,
  4. yes they fill from both sides, the radiator i have is after market and metal and the forester no bracket plastic , different sizes,
  5. there on vacation, or closed, the plugs are different , anyway to splice the wire, i have a good one from a 97 outback but the plugs are different,
  6. looks like the 97 outback will fit and plug in , metal fan covers, the 95 the plug is different and plastic fan covers, + the 97 is a newer radiator,

  9. ok, yes keyway is down , all else , thanks, going to finish job today, hopefully no damage was done, it looks like the crank pully bolt came loose, , nice 98 forester so i hope no damage,, the old crank pully did not come off just loose and the belt came off, the old key-way was still in place , but still did everything else
  10. yes replaced crank pully and keyway, but had to stop , because had to go to work , going to replace both fan belts, will the timing be off ? or not, thanks
  11. not yet looked at it, but what i have been told , seems like bad crank pully , no over heating , or major oil leaks, , are the bolts easy to take out that holds the pully not the main bolt , trying to have all the right tools , because where it is no metric tools and outside, does the radiator fans have to be taken off ?
  12. my sister -in- law , 98 forester 185,000mi a/t, , belt came off , no power steering , battery light on, did a search , seems it could be a worn crank pully key -way, what size of wrench does it take to loosen bolt, ? i have not seen the car yet , going shortly to take a look at it, the pully wobbles , , i have 2 crank pullies here to take along , but no key-way, which surely autozone or napa has ? thanks

  14. a friend of mine leaving ohio tuesday, for new mexico , and back any subaru parts needed moved , along the way , in the back of a diesel pickup , rates can be worked out by driver, all items should be boxed up , and possible delivery depending on location ,
  15. been reading about led bulbs , tail , lights etc... less pull on alt, any opinion
  16. replaced knock sensor , crack in old one, also bolt holding it in place was very loose, . will see if it help anything , no code before,
  17. no codes, starts fine, but after it warms it;s fine, knock sensor seems to have a crack in it,
  18. drain it in a pan ,have a gal jug and pour it into it , should be about 4 qts, refill drive around drain fill again, i use 3 type also change the black filter,
  19. make sure fuel cap is tight , aleast 5-6 clicks, same thing happaned to me
