  1. what do the ea82 pistons give you? that looks so simple to work on compared to the ea82.
  2. ive never heard a car that sounds like that before. sorta like a cross between a vr6 vw with straight pipe and a M3...
  3. the manifold gaskets wont fail if you use the gasket shellac on them. same happened to me.
  4. that does not sound like the cops job, he should be fighting crime.
  5. welcome! i dont know if the commies there allow anything. no offense to the folks that live there already but damn theres some horrible laws there.
  6. ill help you out since my dealer was too dumb to figure this out cam case o ring part number is 13089aa010
  7. prabably what i will do, thing is cores like that are usually the first to go from cars...
  8. well then how can a rebuild outfit do any work? i can only assume they use substandard parts to keep costs down? example i rebuild the alt in my jeep about 10 years ago using this AFFORDABLE rebuild kit, its still going. http://store.alternatorparts.com/partnod1-7130icebergalternatorconversionkitforthedelco-remycs-130type.aspx
  9. im not im just being cheap, what do i get by doing this swap?
  10. i would, as a rule resurface any head that has a bad headgasket, not for flatness but for surface roughness. irregularities are the enemy. i think what would be needed is a Surf guage
  11. no the ECU i think is shared with the turbo
  12. ok replaced it, lubed the cable with tri flow (real cable lube) greased the pivot bushing in the clutch pedal, and the pivot pin at the clutch end. seems radically diffrent, somewhat easier but a lot more springy. i curse the engineers that thought that would be easy to replace edit i routed the cable same as before
  13. yes thats most likely the problem, as it put out nothing as if it had a bad brush
  14. ok its a 91 legacy unit. tested at 2 parts stores as bad. other than the rear bearing being shot i dont see anything obvious. id like to narrow down what could be wrong with it using the multimeter.
  15. ahh makes sense now

i liked that body style, the newer ones are just enormous in comparison. give me one with the 6 speed and 7.3 and fill one tank with vegi oil. never liked the gas ones, filling both gas tanks would be too depressing.
  17. does it really call for gl5? GL4 or GL5 attack the yellow metal synchros IIRC, redline and synchromesh are gl-4s but with additives for use with yellow metals, could be wrong though
  18. it looks like it will hurt your ground clearance and approach angle set up like that?

my tow rig gets decent mileage with a load about 17 mpg-flat road of coarse. it just did a 700 mile trip. shes an old 89 cherokee, only rated to tow 5500 lbs... pulls nice though! has the engine balanced, blueprinted, stroked, .060 overbore, forged pistons, 10 pounds lighter crankshaft, nice cam, bigger throttle body, header, 4.10 gears and 33's.
  20. you poor guy, a 50 mile commute is just terrible. anyway once you get it cleaned out id use id use it in any manual tranny
  21. to me its not suprising a circit board can go bad after so many years. thousands of heat cycles to crack solder and capicitors prabably long dried up.
  22. i have a rebuilt one id love to sell
  23. made a simple press/dimple die
  24. in not sure, my bumper is .120" thick all around.
