  1. I'm working on a ea82 carbed that has the same kinda thing going on. When the car is started, the autochoke/start idle speed is really high. When I kick the throttle down it goes down to almost nothing/ wanting to die. Is the idle adjustment screw on the front of the carb? Or is that the start idle adjustment? Where is the other screw?
  2. I am bringing up this old thread because I am having a problem. About a month ago I went from this (note LH turn signal): To this: The problem I am experiencing is that the left turn signals now blink rapidly after replacing the mikey-mouse-foglight-signal. Yes, both of them blink, none of them are burnt out. When I put the flashers on, they all blink evenly. When I signal right, the RH signals blink as they should. Just the LH signals blink like there is one out. What is causing this?
  3. IIRC in his thread he said he drove it home like that. Guess firewood works in a pinch when your ride weighs practically nothing.
  4. Not sure... Heres another photo I found rolling around in my photo bin. Looks like they were having rear suspension issues and a messed up cv.
  5. Welcome, fellow Washatonian.
  6. The wrx wing looks suprisingly good on your sedan. Is it a gl-10? I spy a panel between the tailights.
  7. Not sure who's this is, but it is someone here on USMB I believe.
  8. Cant wait to see this thing finished! All this work you are putting into it, it looks great. Are you gonna leave it fwd?
  9. We gonna get to see it?
  10. I want it. Or at least to replicate the decals.
  11. Take care of those wheels on the front of the first gen. They are harder to come by than most Subaru wheels. If you find two more... Some examples of awesome:
  12. Ask and you shall recieve. My camara just kinda sucks on closeups. :-\ Car is a '86 gl wagon, 5 speed dual range 4wd. The controller inside the car. Nevermind the red switch, that was for some lights the p.o installed. And here is the (brain?) in the engine compartment.
  13. Idk why... but I kinda like it. Just needs to be cleaned up a little. Heres the dumptruck subaru, dead link in pages past...
  14. I went with these: They are "ITM Engine Components" pistons. They aren't too much larger than stock. Dunno if ea71 pistons would have been better, but didn't have them available to me at the time.
  15. Well I sure hope the ea81 is worth it, thats what I had bored. :-p The engine was old and tired, never overheated. Just wanted to smooth out the cylinders and get some bigger pistons to fit. At least shes running good.
  16. Interesting... A while back I picked up a '86 gl wagon for parts. It has cruise in it. It doesn't work... But it is there. What trim levels did the cruise come in? Is it limited to turbo or gl10? This car (had) an ea82 (put in another vehicle) not a ea82t. Doesn't have any of the gl10 trim and the title says GL. Anywho, I could get pics of it in the morning if people are intrested. Like I said, its not working, and I think I want to hang onto it. It would just be an educational thing.
  17. I'm doing a snow dance here, hopefully brings some snow to the Puget Sound area. None of these are mine, just thought they were cool. :-p
  18. Where are you located? My engine was bored at a place that deals with old vw engines. (boxers) Subaru and VW engines are very similar, most places will probably take you. Hope that helps.
  19. This is a good thread. Its the maxima alt upgrade. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=100559 I'm sure there are others if you search "alternator upgrade".
  20. Its in my Brat. The '86gl wagon is on the backburner for now... Its my parts shed atm. Happy New Year
  21. That Brumby has very nice running gear. :slobber: Is it yours? I like the mag wheels too.
