  1. I do the same at Costco whenever there aren't close spots. The picture doesn't really show the severity of the angle I'm parked at.
  2. Awesome indeed. More Subaru humor
  3. NVM. Read PP before seeing other thread. Maybe these guys would be able to source you another lift to sell to you, aedimmick.
  4. My mistake. Anywho I'm subscribed now, interested to see where this goes. Looks like a lot of fun.
  5. Thats a pretty friggin awesome sedan. What kind of engine upgrades? EJ swap?
  6. I've had similar symptoms in my Brat before. First it was the left front wheel shaking violently. No noise, just shaking. Replaced that CV axle and problem solved. Then the passenger side front wheel did the same thing on a longer trip on the highway. (this wheel I knew also had a bad wheel bearing) Had to limp it all the way home like this, so I ended up replacing the ball joint as well from all the shaking. When I took the axle off it was evident that the bearing had gotten very hot because it left a heat mark on the axle. I replaced the bearings and axle in that side. Now, no more shakes or worries at all.
  7. Yeah, its made out of bondo. He said so in the other thread before he picked up the car.
  8. She looks great! Does it run?
  9. Welcome. Are you the original owner of the car?
  10. If you're looking for tranny/parts themselves, you can go to the for sale section of the forum and look around or post in the "parts wanted section". If you want to know how to do it, you can search for past swaps people have done or look in the Ultimate Subaru Repair Manual. Best of luck.
  11. If you can get your hands on a Haynes "SUBARU 1600 & 1800", make sure to get the 1980 thru 1989 edition. It is geared more towards ea81's. The 1980 thru 1994 edition is the re-publish and is geared toward ea82's, which will be very unhelpful to you.
  12. ^^^ +1!! So what if its fwd. Make it nostalgic.
  13. Ah... The Japanese and their attempts to make things seem American.
  14. The yard stick trick only works if one of the windows is left down slightly. The angle is too great when the windows are all the way up, and will result in a broken window or not opening the door.
  15. Put a shim through the top of the window to pull it away from the jam. Slide a long, thin metal object (like a tong/poker/campfire hotdog roaster stick) down through the gap you made and tap at the unlock switch until it flicks over. Just be careful.
  16. Well, by your description in the first post, I think its no good. You should sell it to me, I'm local to where it is stored even. Engine rebuilds/reseals on ea81s are not that tricky. If you have any mechanical history, some tools, and a haynes manual; you're golden. Plus if you come up with blanks or questions, you have this amazing board of experts here to help you. Thats an awesome looking Brat. The turbo ones are deffinately hard to find and those wheels on it even harder to find. Best of luck, and I'll be watching to see how this turns out.
