  1. also, keep in mind that they abandoned it for a reason and that it could be quite abit of work to get it back to good condition. since you already got a 3-door gl you can use this one for parts or spiff it up to offroad with it. trying to get a title is utter hell, as you have to go thru many steps. i imagine its even harder in cali. either way, good luck. skeet
  2. im pretty sure i can handle an oil change (esp. since ive done it before), just as long as i dont try to do an engine swap or something. im not that crazy...yet.
  3. well, im glad i have this board to prevent me from doing even more stupid things
  4. cant find a prev. post on it, so... WARNING: STUPID QUESTION i dont know what type of gear oil was in my tranny last, but it is in dire need of a refill. probly use a 90w140 or sumthin fer it, is it bad to mix oil types?
  5. uewaaH? (tim taylor sound) i know not of this 2nd cd... in any case, however, i greatly enjoyed the first (and only) one, and will be sending you cash when i can rob the bank again. all out of 5s. hey, is it possible for me to send you a 20 and you donate the rest to the board for me? i dont got paypal to do this online and ive been wanting to help out for some time, so this may work out. pm me w/ an answer if you can. thanks for tha cd! skeet
  6. saabaru... the whole concept of gm's intermixing products just pisses me off. i know all motor companies do it (the expedition w/ the navigator for FMC, the caravan w/ the voyager for Diamler Chrysler), but when they have to give a good-selling car to a company with no originality, despite them "making the upgrades needed", it ruins the individuality of the company that originally made it. they try to 'italdesign' it, and come up with the same thing in a different front end package. not that im dissin on saabs too bad, i still like them, its just GM cant keep their grimy slimy stubs off a new toy for more than a year or two.
  7. yet another reason why sun/moon roofs arent worth the view...sadly.:-\ i feel fer ya, even just going to high school is hard enough to maintain paying for broken parts. gotta replace the clutch, brake pads, front axles, battery, and quite possibly everything else that i got the car with. at least the parts are cheap compared to many other cars, and easy to work on. do not be discouraged, keep the soob, but focus on using the toyota for daily driving for now while you fix the better of the two vehicles. clearly the subaru. p.s.: got a cousin that goes to WSU... name's jason kamerath. soph class.
  8. this is all extremely good info, but... unless the cops of today get a governmental technology grant to bump them up to the futuristic ways of the police in minority report ©, i sincerely doubt that they will be able to afford the technology it would take to take over someone else's car. even tho its probably true that they have the tech now, it takes like 100 yrs just to get a new item okayed for the whole force to use. anyone remember how the whole taser grant thing worked? right, it didnt. same with this f-b-w tech stopper schlamille they're sposed to have. as soon as they come out with something to stop it, the opposing force will come out with something to block it. ie: scrambler of all outside sources of remote waves. the possibilities are innumerable. this thread, despite being quite venomous, has brought black boxes to the table. the info provided by blitz is plentifully truthful, and anyone that is against the fact that it is already installed in many of today's cars, and yes, even the cheap ones, is obviously not reading the replies correctly, as well as the newspapers. it is now an option for parents of the children who drive the cars to get an info device to track the car and its speed (+etc.) via the black box already installed. this works on all cars '96 and younger. and good news:rolleyes: ! even if your car doesnt have one on there, you can always get one installed! yay! this black box/recording box/whatever-you-wanna-call-it deal could quite possibly become the newest required safety feature on cars everywhere, and have the same laws as seat belts do now. it could even be a political topic in the future.
  9. no, i mean my car. and im positive its not your hood monkey. which reminds me, anyone see the trunk monkey commercials? hilarious. that was off topic. whoops. dangit. stop. okay.
  10. just reading old threads from the 'new age subaru' forum, and realizing that many (although not all, some are very knowledgeable) of these newbies dont know too much about cars, not to mention their own brand new subaru. not really basing this on recent posts, but does it seem to others that the older gen soob owners know tons more than the '95s and above? i read about some kid complaining that his year old OB was making a knocking noise before his car warmed up, and was willing to break open his engine and replace a bunch of things to make it go away. them youngins seem a bit hasty (btw, im 17...heh). p.s.: what really does make that knocking noise?
  11. it was on the cds that noahDL###soandso (cant remember name, had a noah in it tho) was making. EDIT: noahDL88's the name... sorry man, short brain fart.
  12. daaaaang. WJM, you got some serious competition if his car ever appears stateside.
  13. argh, why am i still seeing this post at the top? wait a minute... i just contributed. nevermind.
  14. fer da muffler section i like the cherrys myself. of course, thats IMO, and probably not needed. say, on a side note to the WCSS6 attenders, how come many of the nicest lifted wagons still had the stock exhaust? that muffler just ruins the whole grand scheme of the lifted hatches... not to mention how easy it is to redo it. is there any advantages to keepin the orig'?
  15. winter is fine, unless someone else wants to combat it. like i said before, all times and places are negotiable between the people that are willing to go.
  16. when he gets back, IF he gets back, hes gonna look at this thread and be perplexed on why so many people (well, at least ten) are sweating over it. let us break this habit of curiosity, and focus on subarus. because subarus are life. amen.
  17. oh no you didnt! how could you, you fiend! yeah, just kidding in case someone didnt pick that up. btw, da q homeboy posted at 12:13 pm today, see? Qman : Today at 12:11 PM. that says it all. the end. or not.
  18. dang, how often do you replace your clutch?
  19. ah, the possibilities are limitless. maybe he just hates us all. or maybe (which im putting MY money on) its the house closure as previously mentioned.
  20. and if youre willing, would someone mind finding one for a 93 loy as well? thanks, sorry for taking advantage of the previous post. skeet
  21. How much do they run for, and do they fit universally on all cars, or do i get one specific to my model? i know that doing it myself would be tons cheaper, but considering i dont have the tools/space and possibly time (if it takes a while), then id rather have a shop do it. how much would that cost? thanks, skeet p.s.: should i choose to do it myself (which i would want), what would it take for a kid with no experiences with clutch replacement before?
  22. thanks for the reply, sounds good if its somewhere in utah. i wanna get some more people in on this so please, if you are interested at all say so and well get something going soon.
