so replaced con washer. helped but it is the wheel bearings at least the parts are cheap. now hmm.... i am in portland right now, anyone have a wheel bearing assembly or know of a junkyard where i can pick one up? les schwab quoted me 189 for parts and labor (100 in labor) but i think i can do it myself? and i just would rather do the whole hub then take it apart and do the bearings i think. -
so once i got the timing right the car wouldnt start ahaha. only when the idle mixture was turned 3 turns out. so..... BIGGER JETS! Muahahaha boosted up that secondary air jet so it sucks like a mother when i throttle it. and then bigger main. runs good at 1 1/4 turns out. so it's a little rich. but i am at 6600 ft elevation, and tomorrow i am road tripping at probably around 3500 ft so it should be muy bueno! Yipeee!

Cool story. Just ************ing shocked the ************ out of myself because when i undid the distributor bolts, i pulled off one of the spark plug cables and reached down to adjust when the car was running.....Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!! ahahaha But now i am running at 11 degrees advanced sounds smooth.

Yes the sound changed. And it most definitely is not a cv axle anymore. I think it is the cone washer. I am almost sure of it. Because the sound is irregular. -
where am i pointing the timing gun to check timing degrees?
-
alright sweet, my boss is loaning me his timing light. So on that note, which spark plug is my number 1? Where are the marks that I am looking for? And What degree is ideal for me?

On my way right now!!!! EDIT- ahahaha forgot i am jb welding my cat and muffler right now, fixing holes....

Damn you have a hell of a catch! Most girls would scoff at something like that. I think it is sexy though

ooooh it very well could be the timing. i backed it off quite a bit. is there a way to tell exactly how many degrees i am at? also my disty cap attaches with two clips as well.
-
oh also it wasnt pinging. I read up online on some other forums and found out that it is just my heat shield. rusted through the bolt and now the heat shield is loose and rattling against muffler. Easy fix
-
yes i did use the transadpt. Still had to bang in the power steering reservoir though. I just put a bigger secondary main jet in. 135 primary 145 secondary. And i am at 1 1/2 turns out. runs really smooth and at about 700 rpm's. But now when i floor it from idle it actually backfires? what does this mean?
-
will do boss! You think that is what is causing the knocking? it's only when i turn right and the pressure comes off the wheel enough to make it like wobble and pop/knock. when it is under pressure the wheel tracks straight so no issues there.

hehe woops gonna get one tuesday and put it in on location then drive to portland and crossing my fingers that my problem is solved.
