  1. most clamps wont just come loose... unless overtightened at one point, ive seen them stripped before... neighbors... i had one steel all of my tire stem valves... you know, that center piece that keeps the air in.. i wanted to do some very mean things.. but thats here nor there so... please please dont overheat... subaru's are not very good at dealing with that... id replace the clamp and the hose to be safe and check coolant levels every time you go to drive... rllywgn
  2. it may be more then just the headgasket. In overheating situations the heads are likely to crack, typically between the valves but also in alot of other places. your best bet may be removing the heads alltogether. If your finding coolant on the studs and coming out by the egr pipe (where it shouldnt) theres a strong possibility of the head being cracked. there is a coolant connection on the bottom of the head... is this leaking? how does your oil look? frothy? air bubbles developing in the cooling system? loosing coolant? sweet smelling exhaust? temp spikes or constant overheating? all symptoms of a bhg or cracked head. rllywgn
  3. i know i have it somewhere i just need to find it but... back in 98 or 99 sportcompact car (pre fromat change) had a last page article on rare cars, the RX turbo was featured. if i can dig it up ill post the article... rllywgn
  4. i think they were an option for any subaru... when i bought my RX turbo it had 48k miles, one elderly owner and a complete subaru dealer labor history.. it was amazing... the jewel box for the key was still there, all the interior safety stickers and the orignal window sticker in the glove box.. im almost possitive it was all stock... only dissapointment was the hubcaps, rx style though... if anyone in the near future has a set of 5 lug alloys they want to trade for my enkei motion wheels let me know... just a thought rllywgn
  5. i just had a thought... a small narrow minded thought.. but a thought none the less... my car is paid off... i know its a cheap shot but, its the only one i got... i saw a saleen s7 on hwy 14 in vancouver yesterday... it was pretty rllywgn
  6. the foglights come on when the headlights are on and the switch is pressed downward dot side down... i like the foam spoiler and i hate it... i believe min was a culprit in a rust problem on my trunklid right next to the latch.. so fiberglass, bondo and alot of sanding and viola... no flexing and and no water leak its just glued on basically... mine was starting to pull up in a few spots on the leading edge rllywgn
  7. they are IPF's, these have been on 6 of my subaru's now... they came with my black 89 rx turbo. you can't find them anywhere, so i cant bear to part with them... i hope nobody jacks my covers... also my foam spoiler is now a very nice rigid molded in trunk spoiler... i still smell like fiberglass... pics to come soon... rllywgn
  8. yeah you think you would notice that... i need to head across the river more often i guess... rllywgn
  9. heres my 88 GL-10 sedan ft4wd turbo has the full cloth interior and such... could use some new seat for sure... paddings all but gone.. rllywgn
  10. theres three styles for the rear panel that covers them all... (ive had all three) this one is a turbo 4wd 1988 blank turbo turbo 4wd also... ea82 coupes didnt have them license plate is between the taillights hard to find... rllywgn
  11. does the 89 have grey interior by chance? i need a couple interior bits... if you want to part ways with some stuff let me know hell even if it's not grey it may work... rllywgn
  12. i drive by that starbucks almost every day and never see ferrari's... i need a few things before i can keep up... but its close:banana: rllywgn
  13. you can find the clip at any hardware store... supra's eh... i have an mkIII... i got off my lazy butt and looked... its a 1/4" e clip that holds the wastegate arm on... rllywgn
  14. my 2cents on the disty.. the 2wd disty has a better advance then the 4wd models. this should actually be better for you rllywgn
  15. try an E clip... its semi circular... kinda looks like an E or its a lock clip, similar to an e clip but a complete circle and harder to remove.. they may have had it open to keep it from boosting... i had a truck the had a plate over the carb to keep it from opening all the way... kept the elderly driver slow... rllywgn
  16. you have the push button fourwheel drive it uses an actuator to engage the fourwheeldrive.. the actuator is below your spare tire kinda above the trans as i recall ea81's were available as a GL-10 not every GL-10 had alloys from the factory rllywgn
  17. im not sure if i understand you correctly but your wastegate actuator uses a cotter pin or similar to connect it to the flapper door. if your using the term "wired" in a very loose fashion, i assume you rebolted and/or reconnected the wastegate arm, this is a must as it governs the boost created by the turbo... this piece has no wires... does this help or did i miss something? rllywgn
  18. a 2" on the turbo outlet is slightly to large.. so the ID of the couplers you get should be a 2" or if you can find 1 7/8ish for the turbo outlet... rllywgn
  19. from what i understand it's the fuel pump for the 80-92 f-150 although im not sure if its the 6cyl or 8cyl pump or if theres a difference.. Thats on my list of things to do... it should come up in a search.. if you find any tips on aftermarket fuel pressure regulators on the ea82's let me know... rllywgn
  20. stay away from the supra intercooler.. they have a internal 6psi pressure loss... My supra is just begging me to put something better in it.. rllywgn
  21. buy your high flow cat and muffler online... something like ebay? is that how its spelled? yeah, Im in the process of doing this to save myself about 210 bucks in parts.. most muffler shops charge around 120-150 bucks for a standard cat... magnaflow cats on ebay are 57 and some change for 2.5" hope this helps... and by all means shop around and do the price beater, if you dont wanna track down the parts... 300 is a little closer to right imo for a semi performance system at a meineke type place rllywgn
  22. i bought my wagon up here in washington then took it down to arizona as soon as i got the heads replaced... damn desert... no mud... i was also able to cool down a little more by modifying the front bumper for more airflow... this may seem a little extreme but cruising temps dropped a few degrees... this is about mid way through the process showing the actual bumper core modification (center cutout) the bumper cover is pretty easy to match the cut if you so desire... Im not saying do it... but yet another idea... rllywgn
  23. i had a radiator in my supra "rodded" i think they said... whatever it is they do to clean it... it cost as much as a oem replacement radiator (300.00) after labor and what not... new radiator is just that... new... should be perfect right from the get go... imo rllywgn
  24. most ive had will be between 50 and 75psi on startup after warm it should sit at about 5-10psi at idle, and about 10psi for every 1000rpm when driving rllywgn
  25. if you do end up needing a radiator... check out www.radiatorbarn.com 140 bucks or less for a 2 row and free shipping I've purchased 5 radiators from them now (different cars) and service had always been very good... about 5 day wait on shipping typically rllywgn
