  1. If you like driving your car fast then don't lift it any higher than it is now. With a body lift above 2" you are NOT going to improve or retain your cornering ability. The spot you are going to rub on is not so much the fenders but the inner wheel well. My track with is increased an 1" per side and I still rub with only 235/75/15's. If you are actually using your car for off road then the sway bars are counter productive. You can't do this with sway bars attached.
  2. You can do it! Think of this as your last Subie hurrah before heading out. Walker in the rain/snow is a completely different beast than EC. Definitely something to check off the bucket list of Subaru wheeling.
  3. Hoping mine will be out the shop and ready to go. It's been out of commission since shortly after the Mid Summer run due to brake and tranny issues.
  4. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/139624-91-legacy-ls-wagon-with-5spd-dr-wa/ 2.2 with 5 speed D/R.
  5. Got one like that for sale...minus the lift, bob, and straight axle of course. 3.9 in the front and 4.11 in the rear.
  6. NorthCoast replied to Uberoo's topic in Off Road
I fail to see where this has become a pissing match or where there was any attitude. Am I missing something? All I got out of Monstaru's post was an extremely true statement with a little funny at the end. Don't get me wrong, gravel roads are fun but that's not off road. This is off road. or this... Back to the original question... I would probably go with a 'yota. Don't know what year or exactly how I would set it up yet. I really like my aunt and uncle zuk crawler though.
  7. Yeah you guys were long gone by the time it was my turn to go up. Don't know why people don't listen... especially to the spotters. When I'm fortunate enough to have a spotter I just listen to them and watch for hand signals. They can see what's going on, I can't.
  8. Are you going to youtube the vids for us non-FB folks?
  9. Rob you forgot to mention the guys that didn't take the advice was another group made up of mostly stock jeeps. If it wasn't for those guys I don't think we would have had half the troubles. That trail was nasty though. Really wish I had followed GLoyale the rest of the way up but I didn't want to leave my bros behind. Turned around at the top after Uberoo snapped an axle and headed back down to make sure Austin got his A-arm put back into place. All in all it was fun times. Loved the 311 trail. Very happy with the way Stella performed, especially the VSLD that I put in the day of the trip. I wish I could have stayed another day but I had junior with me and he needed to get home. Sorry to hear about your car Uberoo.
  10. When he said he might bring his bike this is the image that came to mind... Don't forget your helmet!
  11. Almost ready... Took her for a shakedown yesterday. Just a couple things to tidy up.
  12. Austin... if you get bored / thirsty between now and then you can always come over and help me get Stella ready for the trip. I've got one more trailing arm block to do and then adjust the tranny. Then she'll be ready for a road test. Hopefully do a shakedown this weekend.
  13. No mice. Just a brain fart. Ground next to the coil pack was loose. Back feed was only occurring when I had jumper cables attached. Tightened the ground and she fired right up.
  14. Cranks fine but no start. Checked all the hoses and everything is connected. Assuming electrical issue since the pre-start warning lights are on all the time even without the key in. I know it's something simple but I'm having a brain fart as to why it won't turn over.
  15. Bethel Ridge and Manastash Ridge...two of my favorite places. Fun wheeling out there especially in the fall/winter.
  16. Now that I moved down south I've been busy taking the lift off the Legacy and swapping it over to Stella. Still not finished but not much left to do. Trying to get her done in time for the mid summer run.
  17. Solar shower?
  18. As someone who has wheeled a Gen 1 Legacy in multiple configurations, I personally wouldn't do it with the set up you have.
  19. See you Sunday.
  20. You've got my number... give me a call. I already got started taking it apart so it shouldn't take too long.
  21. It's off the Impreza.
  22. I have a 2" EJ lift that is yours for the taking but here's the catch... you have to pull it yourself and it has to be done before 7/14.
  23. Love that new bumper and winch. Still planning on putting a 2.2 in there?
  24. I'd rather have that than the bed liner.
  25. Damn dirty hippies... Always smelling like wet dog and patchouli.
