  4. Hey all, I know this is the 80's+ section but the other forum doesnt seem as active, so here goes: I'm seeing a vin decoder site that lists both GL and DL brats from 1979. Source: http://vehicleidenti...subaru-car.html What, if any, are the differences between these models? Thanks all! SB

  13. Update: OEM unit was $26 and snapped into place in less than 2 minutes...... Wow, guess I'll be buying OEM parts from now on. Cant believe I wasted all that time filing down an inferior product. Still looking into how the ball&chain cruise control thing hooks to the pedal, but at least its drivable now
  14. Just ordered an OEM unit for $26.. kinda pricey, but at least its made to fit properly. If youre gonna do it, do it once and do it right i guess.
  15. Hey all, Finally got around to the brat again and I'm having issues installing the aftermarket accel cable from oriellys. The plastic clip that goes into the firewall is too big. I've had to file it down quite a bit to gt it to fit and even now it's not how I'd like it. Just wondering if any of you have had problems with this / if any of you have the part number for an OEM unit. The orielly part number was : Pioneer Inc. - Accelerator Cable Part # CA8609 Line: PIO Thanks all.
  16. Dang, doesnt work for me either. Ive tried searching and still nada
  17. Nice! not as clean as i envisioned but i appreciate anything that gets the job done! So long as youre happy with it thats all that matters. What I can say is you sure have more balls than I do because theres no way I'd cut into my baby, haha. Good on ya!
  18. Since youre changing alternators, you might want to look into the altima alt. swap.. 90A unit, simple swap. I belive your model will need the two pulleys. should be able to swap them, but I think the single pully ones are lower amperage anyways.. not sure on that though
  19. As will I.. I already oggle over every old soob I see on the way to work in seattle, haha. Hope you get it back and I hope the bastard that stole it gets whats coming to him
  20. Anyone willing to go snap a photo of their pedal assembly under the dash? I will be eternally grateful
  21. Got mine in the mail yesterday too.. definitely feels good knowing I have a spare set.. I swear its the only piece that breaks on my brat with regularity, haha.
