i will have to price out the berrings and seals and pull pan on thiss one make shure is standard berrings and is in good condition shiping is a bitt tough were are you how many kms from kelowna BC i will have a awnser for you on monday if thiss engine is good enuff or not

Have had a plie of bad rebiuld alts lately but never seen one make a no start just no charge glad you found it

over 80 of those motors i know it well and have seen many failed my justy engine has 12years on its 1rst rebiuld and i do oil pump gears every 75000kms as thiss was the weak link. When checking justy motor let it warm up till rads hot let it idle and listen any chain noise problem flickering oil light problem bottom end rattle problem and exhaust should sound even

i live in a area with some realy steep hills and long hills i think the 4eats take a beating out here a'm fixing lots all the time but still not as many 4eats as i do busted 5 speeds. I rermove all inline fillters as they deleted it in 92 so they thought it was not needed i think it was a potato in the pipe.

have you checked the main engine ground on rear side of ds intake ? also the main engine ground on starter

pull right front iner fender well down and will see pump they get ruined when they sitt over winter and freeze the impeller spins on the pump shaft and dosent turn i think all subarus use the same pump take one out of a legacy putt in there

the tbi injectors wear to the lean side mabee injector is on its way out or cam timing +1 green diognostic conector thiss will hold the timing at 0 and not lett ecu addvance timing

I'm 45min from kelowna bc on hyway 6 is funny had a justy come up needed a motor just last night no worrys have two good ones now. Are you confedent enuff to go thru the engine or whould you need me to do that I whould do mains rods oil pump rear main seal front crank seals timing cover waterpump timing belt cam seal addjust valves and valve cover gasket before i whould install any justy motor costs a bitt but then will last forever.

Thats probly why i have so many old gen parts. Non of those cars left up here and to hard to get the parts down there dosent bother me at least i have some engines to work with if your absulotly stuck

Have done so many 4eats that i can look at the materail in the pan and tell whats wrong inside in your case the band i think is on its way out it tends to lose its coating and break down it can be addjusted. And is not to hard to replace I am ushaly doing forward clutchpack and band on those

check all rear tank feul lines both sides of tank have seen many rusted out feul lines also listen to injectors with long screwdriver for a click mabee are sticking open

on the race buggy we used 550 reworked redtops had to convet the 251 intake to side feeds was a trick it runs fairly ritch when cold but cleans up warm thiss is on a 251 turbo with nos and 15 psi boost and theese injectors are almost to big for it

Have never done one in car as it only takes me 35 min to pull it out have you pulled the drian plug and looked at the magnet for debries thiss can tel you alot when center diff is bad i find bitts of the snapring from awd clutchpack on magnet

looks like forward clutch materail or band hows the 2nd and 3rd gear shifts ? redish brown is soft parts meatal is bushings or planetarys and brown hairy stuff is band

I bought it last night 120$ deliverd to my door seems to check out havent pulled the pan yet but rocked the crank no knocks i whold reseal and reberring it anyway as its very easy when engine is out and hard in position

had a 05 outback turbo with the lowermost valvecover bolt broken on ps side what a job to fix that had to drop the whole front xmember to get a drill at it but valve cover was not to bad to pull

there are some rubber plugs by ds feet for clutch and options have seen them removed for amp wireing and left out or hole check thiss or mabee ac drain hose is inside car insted of draining outside

i have some used ones not to easy to find theese days

Awd center diff has expanded apart ? or wrong ratios or trany got rusty somehow inside or mainshaft berrings going out

i put some 460 cc injectors in a 2.2 platform other day and whould not run just flooded and poored out black smoke and they cost customer big $ and dident work. I have used 2.5d injectors in 2.2 dident notice any difference

Justy motor came up for cheap on are local buy and sell will try and get it

i use a mutsubishi 100 delta wound alt comes off 84-89 2.6 caravans was a realy heavy duty alt and has same plug as subaru used the feed wire for the choke to excite it has been on my 81 brat for 10 years no problems
