ok so the car is not mine 99 forester came in with blown motor(rod knock BAD) had check engine light, abs light on swaped in a nice 40k unit, clean motor put motor in, new fuel filter, plugs, wires,pcv,air filter do the usual warmup, no check engine light good exhuast flow(no pluged cat) heat kicked in nice and engine warmed up nice shut it off and then fired it up to drive it stumbles like a rabid dog, backfires, argues then will run great, then it will crap out what i know swaped coil-nada new wires plugs-nada swaped/adjusted TPS-nada idle control clean-nada checked intake and exhuast-nada fuel preasure is 40psi during stumble-nada no check engine light im really confused it WILL run, and great, when its running right its full of power and responsive, smooth idle but nothing i do seems to make it right HELP PLEASE!!!!

let me clear some things up 1. i have dealt with shane before, he was honest before 2. i only want a good body, i did not care about the rest 3. 2 grand is reasonable for a decent RHD body in perfect condition 4. he told me on several occasions that the body was straight- dirty, well worn but straight with no damage he said the inside was dirty he said the transmision- a bonus really- was good 5. i did look at the car at pickup and pointed out the hood being up he siad it was just a liitle push it was dark---and very cold and i could not see chit 6. on the way home the front hubs broke apart and just about lost the car off the dolly 7. HE NEVER SAID SORRY ALL HE WANTED WAS HIS GOD DAMN MONEY im a reasonable person if he had at least apologized said dont worry about the 140 i would have been happy but all he can do is call wanting his money i will never buy from him again even though i need another rhd and he has one in fact from now on im buying them at auction i can get them for 1500 or less and drive them home i ripped of once but never again

there is a guy named shane, i cant remember is tag on this board, but i bought a car from him recently, he is located in south carolina, was in north carolina, he sold me a mail car, it was supposed to be in good shape for 2grand it should have been perfect but it wasnt it was a piece of chit, bent rad support damage to both rocker panels absalutly no usable drivetrain parts(was supposed to have good trans)NOT and the inside was trashed, he told me that it had a nice body and a good trans the only good thing about it was nOTHING scratches and rust on all the exterior panels fenders and front end bent up i know i should have looked closer but it was night time in NC at some random meeting place and after i got the car home and noticed all the issues all he could say for himself is "where is the rest of my money" i had shorted him 140 at the meet so after all my complaints he still just harps about his 140 so i paid it becouse i am honest like that he on the other hand is a complete JACKAZZ to all that might deal with this jerkoff be warned

no the car i bought is a rare greymarket import, they happen, the guy i bought it from is a retired rally driver, while i did not speak with him much about how he got the car, i know he got it new, probley in another country and brought it here with him(he is not american and had a heavy spanish accent) IT IS LHD, so i can assume spain, but i dont know yet, i am doing a title search, but the car is completely stock_OE

so i just bought of ebay a 95 impreza 2.2l turbo/5speed, coupe non intercooled i plan on adding a full 2.5rs kit + hood front mount intercooler, wrx brakes, kyb/agx shocks whiteline springs and swaybars legacy 2.5gt rims, nardi steering wheel(there are no air bags in this car) some wrx seats up front, sti motor and trans mounts and then sell it probley 10k with no miles(ill rebuild everything) i dont know how to post pictures any help there and ill post for the gt-b TT too

your right about why we use the LHD cars for twin turbo motors they actually fit and it saves a crapload of work fabricating bits i have turbo gen 1 legacy if your interested, great motor ugly car(purple) and I AM A REAL SHOP< WITH A GREAT LOCAL REPUTATION all i build are hot rods (any car thats faster than stock) and subaru maintanence(plus subaru rally cars) thats also why my prices are higher than board members like real shops are not cheap, and real well built cars are not cheap

subeman ill build you naything you want ive shoved wrx into gl-10's whatever you can dream up i can build as to the other fellows comment about TT i think the TT makes a nice street setup but a supercharger would act the same single T's have lag but there are ways around that too but really for a daily driver 300-350 is all you need and thats easy with TT and just nice manifolds scrapdaddy

now that was the right answer im looking at importing too but really you have to fill a container to make it worth while and the cost would be more like 5k-7.5k after puchasing the car, importing the car, then repairing all the needed items(wheel bearings and axle's tune-ups) you need to sell them for 7500 to make anything off them, and its pretty much the same for building them 1500 for mail car, 1500 for drivetrain, 1500-3000 for repiars(mail cars are beaten into submision) you end up needing to get 7500 to make anything and with the upgrades it shoots straight to 10k ther you have it

engineering the motor into LHD is a total ***************, all custum plumbing, increase cost by 2500, HP gain of 62 though, but total pain and 4.44 becouse thats the way the come, i can make them anyhting though, single turbo conversion with the twin motor is an nice ride too and that can be fit into a LHD and its a 10k car

guys i know this is the WRONG place to ask this question this is the cheapskate crew i have learned that lesson with "jakdup" 84 lifted wagon---couldn't sell it and my RX wagon-couldnt sell it and other builds, i know i cant sell it here ill sell it on EBAY im just getting opinions from those who would if they could we are the subaru fanatics right???
