  1. factory ride, ea82t, no mods, idles high, about 1200, 4eat, no other real issues, how do you adjust the idle on these????
  2. just becouse of the post i drained the diff to look at the fluid, i do have a very small amount of debris, VERY SMALL, i have 800 miles on the trans now and it has become very civil on the street, with hop or bind, the rear las seated and the front stays open until slip acures, i have not had problems yet, but i also have a spare transmision just in case
  3. yeah engine is in my garage taken apart, tony i didnt get the heads off last night but ill give it another shot tonight, i pulled 12 hours to finish that white 3door and was to tired to do anything more than go to rachels and crash, sorry mate, she has pool tonight so ill get em off tonight, cheers
  4. yes i got a lsd in the front, a total ***************, it is a phatom grip, lots of modification, and a pain in the arse to drive on pavement, u turns and such, ive learned to deal with it, trying to do a old ea81 dual range now for the off road
  5. so im in for a complete set for my rx wagon, my 84 lifted wagon, my xt6...........
  6. i would conside a hub swap and doing wrx brakes, im thinking about this my self, i have a strut/hub setup from my 95 impreza and im just going to toss it on and see how well it fits, i dont want to give up my german 14" alloys but better braking would be good, mine grind under hard braking, but this is the pads, and im used to it, my race setup on my impreza does that too, brake ducting is a great idea, but my understanding is u run the ducts to the center of the rotor so the cool air can go out through the vents coolong rotor and pad, is this wrong, thats how my impreza and bmw are setup???
  7. really good point sideways, i agree totally, i didnt think before i posted, but the slots actually increase temps, to offer faster warmup and better pad adhesion, but we do this on race cars, with cooling ducts and HUGE rotors where the outer edge has a tendency to be cooler than the inner edge, i have brembo blanks on my rx wagon, with real good pads that have the slot in the middle, this slot is the same as a slotted rotor and help gas escape without cooking the rotor, my brakes work great, get up on them and the feel and act the same as my slotted brombos and ebc pads on my impreza, i would have to agree that slotted rotors on a ea82 street car might be a bad idea, would look cool though, but leave the bling for the new gen cars
  8. ok im interested, for my wagon, better than brembo blanks.......let me know what you need from me
  9. i built this factory trim ea82t, nothing different from stock, like the 10th subaru engine i have built, but i know i havnt run it this before, on the factory intake, right behind the thermostat, there is a port coming up between the intake runners thats fromt he coolent passage below, where does this connect??????
  10. im in for a bunch, let me know about prices and ill let u know how many sets i want, i do a lot of ea82 cars and wouldnt mind have some extra sets around for my custa'mers
  11. i ground all my cars, i noticed better air/fuel ratio's( better injector action) when i grounded the rx wagon, i plan on more grounds soon, i am doing the battery in the rear with a gell cell, actually i think i might do 4 small sealed batterys in the stow compartment in the rear hidding it all and better even weight, but grounding allways helps, but dont forget to do new nice terminals and new starter ground and positive cable, helps a ton, well worth the investment, get 1 guage and make all the pieces and have a welder solder on the ends, might cost 40 bucks for everything, but will help everything
  12. ill see what i can do, check back in a couple of hours
  13. so i set my base line at 20* with the green connectors hooked up, by the way its a ea82t, with spider, cams, pistons, ect, real built, at 20* she hesitates and jerks while excelerating, and it feels like the boost is not doing anything, any clue to what i should do, more advance or something else
  14. i got a 5mt 4wd in the attic, what measurments do you want
  15. i have a 90 xt6 with full time 5speed and lsd, i had a 88 xt4 with single range and lsd, a 89 gl-10 with 4eat and lsd and a 89 gl-10 with single range and lsd, both rxs i have had had the lsd, but every other subaru i have delt with has not and thats at least 100
  16. i have had a turbo carivan, i have a 87 dodge shelby charger with the 2.5 from the 92 daytona r/t, backed by a 568 manual pushing a tdo3/04 hybrid, ************ loads of mods, 456 hp to the wheels, i think my impreza is pushing 150, my rx wagon 210, and the lifted wagon is about 70, the impreza and the lifted wagon are the most fun, horsepower doesnt matter, the shelby will do 10's, but is a *************** on the street, to much for daily driving, the shelby allways gets mistaken for a mustang, i hate fords, chevys, crap, mopar rules, and nobody notices my wagon even after i leave them in the dust, everybody sees the impreza but its set up for rally with fogs on the hood, and every body loves the lifted wagon, even my mom, i think its time for a boosted 2.5 rs project?????
  17. its the wiring under the dash, check all the connectors and then zip tie the heckj out off the wiring untill nothing hangs down and everything is secured, this is the only thing that i have that works, otherwise its about chasing down the chafed wires in the harness, usually on the column side of all the connectors, i have delt with this problem on every xt i have had
  18. pictures in my gallery, but it did something wierd and doubled all the pictures or something but there are more there,
  19. fuel pump is from one of my dodges, in the tank, modified lines, the injectors are the factory ones sent of to RC to be balanced and cleaned and they uped them 9% over the balanced flow, so no part numbers, sorry
  20. i agree with the last post, i polished my returns only slightly, the port should only be to match, dont screw with the head gasket much, use a leather punch to trim it if neccesary, use mechanics die to get your marks, and as a final precasion use spray on copper seal on the gasket if you have to modify it, for better coolant flow you can consider shaving your water pump to crete tighter tolerences but this is a tricky process and took me two mills to get it right on my motor, you can buy a high flo oil pump, thats a great precation, but when ever porting intake passages remember that some twisting turbulance is good, i allways try to give my porting a rifled effect to cuase better fual mix, and remember that the factory exhuast manifolds suck and should be worked a little too, better yet make a manifold and port the ************ out of the exhuast ports, this makes a big difference, dont know about the xt6 head but on the ea82t its helps

  22. there 8 wires coming out of it, 2 connectors, the first connector has 2 wires and they indicate that its in gear, any gear, i figure this is the nuetral safety, but are not strong enough to loop the starter inhibitor through, the other connector has 6 wires, 2 (green, and green/red i think) are the reverse indicator, then there are 4 other wires that are 2 black and 1 blue, 1 green/?, i figure these are the 2 range indicator switches but i cant get anything to work off them, any combination, nothing, does anybody know the brake down of the wiring on a 87 rx trans w/ diff lock, dual range, 4wd/fulltime, help please the rx wagon almost lives
  23. i need to ship a single range 5speed and dont have a scale, any body know how much it weighs???? its from a ea82t
