  1. Already delivered to Mcbrat's house: FWD 5-speed, flywheel/clutch, ea82 driveline, etc.
  2. Snowstormer, do you have enough room for this stuff? FWD 3AT w/TC, 4 15"pugs w/tires, 1 15" pug no tire. I would really be in your guys' debt, and Waldette would be very appreciative, too!! (Not sharing that.)
  3. OOPS! I thought you were talking about the longblock... guess I should read closer, or wait until I wake up before posting. Pat
  4. *IF* you can, and *IF* it is ok with b00stingsx(sp?) and numbchux(sp?), I would be SOOO happy!!! That would cut a day off of my trip.
  5. Mick, have you checked with local machine shops to see how much it would cost to fix? I did something similar to a motorcycle years ago... took it to a machinist who "cored" out the bolt (hollow cutter), filled in hole with weld, redrilled/retapped hole. Might be pricey ($100?), but if this on an already rebuilt head, might be worth it. Every time I use an EZ-out I worry about it snapping...
  6. Waldo has passed from the land of Gettysburg, through Maryland (can't think of anything gimmicky to say) through "almost heaven", back into PA, back into WVA, and on into Ohio. I am now at 86subaru's again. Grey Legacy looks pretty good, except for tranny issues. Manana (today??) I should be on to Missouri, and then up to Minneapolis, then back down to I-80... I REALLY wish that I had hit MN on trip out... I am beyond bingo on cash, so trip home will be fun. Waldette will not like the look of the M/C bill this month. Need to refill minutes on pre-paid cell phone... really burned though the minutes while roaming. This trip has taken far too long... zzzzzzzzzz
  7. Hi, I am trying to get a hold of grossgary (see info las page of my "Cheap X-USA Shipping" thread. I can easily get to Westminster, but have no idea where he is. I have 12 minutes of internet time, then can be reachable by cell phone (360) 265-2479 Thanks!!!! Pat
  8. Waldo has had a rough couple of days... As Paul set he got to Abbottstown circa 4:30pm on MLK-day. Only office preson in, no one to help Waldo move the future Waldette-mobile form its wrong-sloped parking spot. After trying to get it to move (known tranny-issue + cold + battery), I tried to drag it out with inadequate materials. Until I realized I had 20 feet of grade-8 chain. DUH! Pulled it out, still couldn't get it up on dolly, plus still had to disable/remove driveshaft (AWD). After 4 hours in 15degF weather, I gave up and got a room. Spent a couple hours dealing with borderline frostbite, some of it in odd places. 2 hours this morning with mechanic and hookup, and I am off. Stopped by Library for some internet time. I will likely be on my way to O-hi-O in a few minutes.
  9. Waldo is on the move! After a visit to Lowe's and a very nice dinner, he will forsake the comforts of home (even if not his ) for the freedom of the open road. Just another 12-14 hours and the Coupe will be home. Thanks go out to Jim, Patty, and Miles.
  10. Waldo forgot to mention that he spent some time in an odd town... one where they seemed to go through great pains to say that they were NOT odd. The water tower proclaimed that they were not odd, the Library oozed non-difference. Only the University was not taking part in this a-diverse festival, calling itself Illinois State University. Waldo saw a big sign that he thought was addressed specifically at him: In 2 foot tall letters, it said, "Northwet", and some other stuff too unimportant to read. Well, it turns out it said Northwest, but it was an honest mistake. Waldo was also VERY happy for the opportunity for his first shower after 2 time zones. So were the people that put me in the yard and hosed me down. Shortly, Waldo will be on the move again, heading north and still farther East, bypassing the "Crossroads of the World" to end up in New England. ETA is tomorrow. oh... mid-morn, probably.
  11. As one can deduce from the post timestamp and the 10-12hr drive time, it looks like The Coupe's Arrival will occur on... Sunday! Sunday! SUNDAY!!! Enjoy your Arenacross... it might have been fun to goto...(sniff)...if..(sniff)...someone, *anyone* had...(sniff)...invited me(strangled sob). Enjoy! And see you tomorrow for Sunrise Services at the 2nd Subaru Church Of The Resurrection. Well maybe Brunch services...
  12. Worked so well that the torque converter that I had stored in the passenger foot well got hot enough that I thought the truck was having troubles because I smelled hot ATF. The -5 was bad enough... the 20-30 mph wind was horrible! I was getting walrus tusks just walking to-from gas cashier.
  13. Enjoying a few shrimps on the BarBee here in Sydney... ok well, it is really steak on the barbeque in Sidney, OH. Stopped by Eric's in Normal... He could probably use some pics of mounts for rear swaybar he bought for his GL. After some socializing here, I will be off for the last leg of the first half of my trip. MOOSENS!!! on Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!!!
  14. Waldo feeeels wooozzzyyyyy... there are straps holding me to a cot... and a dart with a fuzzy end sticking in my derriere. Lots of noise outside... seems to be a backhoe warming up... chalk outlines on the frozen earth... one outline looks like an overweight middle-aged man, the other a truck and tow dolly... men laughing, looking at an old car, lugubriously rubbing their hands together and talking in conspiratorial tones. (heard drifting in on the wind,"MwuHaHaHaHa!!") Waldo is strangely scared....
  15. Everybody is asleep except me! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Sleep is relative to the activity. When I drive, my body forces sleep, but only 10-15 minutes at a time. I then usually snap wide awake and that is that. I don't stay awake until exhaustion... though I have never done it for more that 2-3 days in a row.
  16. Waldo had a pretty good day. Went through lots of states (confusion, lethargy, hunger, apathy...) and crossed rivers when he came to them. West met East around 4:43pm CST, and the reception was icy and cold. Three rivers were crossed, with 2 of them being in the right place. A Kickapoo is: a) A dog A place c) An action that elicits immediate disgust Waldo was seen at the college home of Bonzo's friend. So much more, but in Waldo's pimpmobile and Waldo is going to cath zzzzz.
  17. Well, Paul, I dirtied my shorts on the Spokane to Laramie leg. When do you want me to show up? I can be there tonight, or I can poke around and be there Sunday. Sounds like you folks have plans for Saturday night... And Paul, I am not pushing it, so don't worry. I am in my driving cycle of drive and cat nap. The cat naps can not be denied or avoided, so I am sleeping... just 10 minutes at a time.
  18. Waldo the Weary Wayfarer, was magically transformed into the wily, wocketing wabbit... Two days of forced rest and restlessness renewed his wanderlust (the only type he is allowed to have since he IS a children's character!) He was seen blazing across the Great Plains like a bat out of... its cave (kids character ), eating up the miles like an avenging aardvark! The flatness of Nebraska was no match for him, showing bare and dry roads until near the capitol city. After passing near the tallest point in Nebraska (how high?) he was seen at the Strategic Air and Space Museum, wearing a "Go Huskers!" shirt. (MUCH better than being seen without one! ) At 5am CST he crossed a major river, named after neither of the states that it separated. BTW, it was COLD!!! Guess how cold... A couple hours later he crossed the Raccoon River, and parked himself in front of the house of a prominent member of the community. Waldo's chariot is now lighter by one engine, a tranny, a flywheel set, and a driveline. Got a little heavier with more goodies for moosens. Trying to arrange a Saturday evening arrival, maybe earlier after I talk with a couple people. See you on the radio!
  19. Yup... Don't know when I will sliding into Ft Racoon yet... I am heading off to Ford Dealer now, hoping to meet my new part.
  20. Update: sitting at Caboobaroo's house in Laramie, waiting for Ford dealer to get in 4wd control box... current ETA is 1pm mst. If this fixes problem, should be at McBrat's Thursday afternoon/evening.
  21. Waldo just got an alert from NORAD that part has been delayed until 1pm MST. Waldo is slightly bummed, but does get to hang out some more!
  22. Well, Waldo is about to leave the home of WyoTech, and heading towards, IWRC, home of NORAD. (If I am WAY wrong, sorry!) I will then be heading on towards a city with a corny french name... or is that a corny city with a French name?
