  1. I have four 90-91 legacys with the 2.2 they are good size wagon but still has the stiff sports car like suspension, unlike the later legacy witch have sloppier suspension. That is just my opinion
  2. I have never had a problem (not to say your wrong) I don't leave it connected for more than a second is why it doesn't hurt anything
  3. It sounds to me like you have your multi meter on the wrong values. It wouldn't hurt to dOuble check your settings and try reading again.
  4. Jack up the front of your car and n wiggle your tire up and down if there is significant movement i would say it is your ball joints. Also when you have your car off the ground you can feal if there is slop in your Ty rods just grab the ty rod ends and see if they have free movement up and down they shouldn't have any.
  5. If you car has a flat gasket than that is what it needs to not leak. I have used ceareal boxes and cut them out for a gasket, it works well but you defiantly want to coat both sides of the cardboard with a generous amount of rtv silicone.
  6. Personaly i don't think your problem is your fluid I have used both ATF and power stering fluid in many cars I have even mixed the two before. I have used power stering fluid in subies before. A pump is a pump it is still doing the same thing. The two fluids you don't want to mix in a car is brake fluid and atf or psf it causes a chemical reaction which will ruin all the rubber in your brake system. ATF and power steering fluid are basically the same thing.
  7. In my opinion The easiest way to test the gauge is to connect the sending unit wire straight to a ground if it is good it will go all the way to full. You want to use a short piece of wire connected to the gauge and a know good ground for Best results
  8. The reson I quit driving it was because no matter how fast the engine was running it would only charge at twelve volts. I have a neighbor with a parts cat that i can get parts off of I will just grab an alternator since I know I need one of those and I will also grab a voltage regulator at the same time. I will replace the alt first and if that doesn't fix my problem with the low voltage I will change the voltage regulator
  9. Found the problem with hvac it was a loos connection at the main harness. Thanks for the helP everyone I would never have figured this out without helP
  10. Found it it was down by the old radio plug. While I am here I will check my hvac controlls also
  11. The old radio wouldnt hold time or presets that is part of th reson I replaced it and I think I just found the old plug now I am removing stero right now to get at It and see if I can find original memory wire
  12. I found my problem with my radio but it doesn't make sense I checked for power both power wires only have power when key is on. Those are the only two wires that are in the wiring harness that have power
  13. I used my clutch pedal for a ground when testing the hvac fuse and I didnt see any cut wires but I wasnt looking carefully. As for the radio everything is working properly except for the memory it turns on and off with the key but it won't hold time presets or anything. I know the radio is good it worked when I took it out of my old car. I will double check and make sure my main power is not switched
  14. ATF and power steering fluid are interchangeable on all cars that I have worked on. I'm no expert but your leak may be what's causing your problem.
  15. Looks like a new gen style that is style that I have on my legacy
  16. I'm not sure about yours but I know that on my subie (1990 legacy) if I rotate it in th wrong direction it will not sit flat against the block. Also did you tourqe your sensor to specs? If not that may be your problem.
  17. Thank you that is th info I was looking for and yes I have wiring diagram and have double checked the wires they are all hooked up right, lol for once the colors all matched up. I will check for th fuse under the hood if that doesn't fix it then I will just run a new wire as you suggested. I will also check the soldered connections in the climate controll thank you for the help.
  18. Well my legacy is running now so I am going to wait a little while before I get around to fixing this car. I went into the local auto parts store and had my alternator tested and it has an ac ripple but it is still charging so it looks like I need to replace my voltage regulator to. Will pOst results when I fix, thanks everyone for the help
  19. +1 it is in your main negative cable more than likely. I had this happen once on a Honda and the wire looked fine but when I did a prob test I found out there was a large spot of corrosion in the middle of the wire. I would check both ends of your negative and also check with prob light, or just replace negative wire
