  1. BUY THE KYB"S!!!!!!!!trust us..they are a better choice for handling!cheers, brain
  2. welp, i have owned both, and you have not. we are not talking about 12 inches of lift here. we are talking four inches. and the "art" of using the skinny pedal does not alw3ays warrant it being stood on..........thanks, but i will stay away from the books on this one, as i have the experience to back it up. regardless, these are not ************ing sports cars.that little bit of adjustability does absolutely nothing for you.sorry to break your little hearts.but it is a waste.cheers, brian
  3. "And the cool thing is the only thing that was hurt was the moose." how is that cool?:-\
  4. " Can't do both with a lift".......umm, yes you can.i could corner like a muther************er in my brat.it made you feel like you should loose your lunch, but none the less. its all in the skinny pedal,ya gotta know when to push it cheers, brain
  5. it's just that the KYB's will be a better option period.so why worry about the adjusters.and technically,KYB made most of the oem struts around that time, so they can be considered "stock".cheers, brian
  6. the door plate, the title(definitely not always right).sometimes you can call the dealer and they will run the vin for you.
  7. front or rear? i will be making axles for the rear, the front is still in the works.have not figured out yet what i want to do for them. I and several others always had more problems with the differential stubs than the axles themselves.i will cross that bridge when i get to it i guess. so to answer your question, i don't know yet?..... ok, ok, like i said , i am building rear axles and the research shows that i will be able to do it cheaper than i thought.the fronts are not the same configuration as the rears, so there are considerations to be taken, like, can i find bearings for the front that will allow me to utilize the rear stub asssembly for the outers,if not should i cut some axles and use the cv outers and a u joint inner(seeing as how these are usually the problem)or, do i just put a solid axle up there?anyways, cheers, brian
  8. you just signed onto the wrong forum, at the right time in your life.:lol:with the way you drive, you shoud investigate a stiffer suspension.you might find that you are attracted to rally for a reason. you could put some RX springs on the front struts, find someway to put ea82 rear coilovers in the back with some accord springs, and while your at it you can make some tabs for the rear control arms and torsion tube to add a swaybar. there are more bolt on options farther down the road in the legacies, imprezas, and so on. but a new suspension by way of kyb with some rx springs will do wonders for ya.you will like the way it handles.and you can do the suspension for like 300 bucks , all the way around.if you find the right deal.cheers, brian cheers, brian
  9. DANGER WILL ROBINSON,DANGER........sorry couldna help myself.cheers, brian:lol:
  10. yep , outback it is.i got about 25 once for allied armament.that was a rad deal.cheers, brian
  11. i have never seen a difference in bolt pattern.........but i could be wrong.don't think i am,but could be.cheers,brian
  12. HAHAHHAHAH....so you don't have to listen to him ramble!were all guilty................cheers, brain:drunk:
  13. they are monroes. and they make them to this day. why do you need that adjustment?just curious, this is the second post i have read in a couple of days that are ***************ing about this adjustment. just buck up and lift the damn thing.:grin:kidding, well, kinda.. just out of curiousity, what is THE big deal about this.i have had them and not had them, not an issue either way. better handling can be had by rx springs and a rear swaybar.you stiffen up the ea81 springs and they do not react well.well at least not to me.anyways, monroe is the way to go for the adjustable.checker,schucks,hragen.oreilly has them cheers, brian
  14. i think alot of folks need a comparison photo........of you next to a regular brat, you next to a "regular" lifted brat, and then next to the "thing".....:grin:cheers, brian
  15. yo9u need to hook up with marjorie parker danny.........:lol:kidding, or not..cheers,brian
  16. yeah the 235's will be fine. and the highway gearing will be fine that way too,if i am doing it right the RPM calc. says i will be around 2100 at 60mph.with 4.44 gears, and the 1.7 of the sammy case. that does not sound to bad to me.seeing as how i will not be going over 40 anyway:lol:.i do not plan on driving this on the street very much, if at all.short jaunts through town maybe, but it will never see the freeway under it's own power unless the world ends and i have to mad max it:). got some more reinforcement made today, will weld again this weekend. taking the kids to MONSTER JAM!!!!!! to get them firede up for a couple of hours and understand (dad(me) and their uncles(me)) addiction to his car(s). on another note, i pulled an old power steering rack out and started tearing it down,to see what is needed to rebuild it.anyways, nore updates when i get'em from progress.cheers, brian
  17. awesome, what did it turn out to be?that would be good troubleshooting info:) good for you mate!cheers, brian
  18. your gonna love it.hell, i love it , and i'm a 1000 miles away.:lol:cheers, brian
  19. i will go to some larger shoes when i can.until then i will run these.i will have a bit of clearance with these and am not concerned about it yet.:)cheers, brian
  20. yeah, finding out that mcbrat was able to turn the shifter around helps alot.i will make it as flat as i can and still be able to shift.....when i get there.cheers, brian
  21. that is the goal,as slow as things are right now, i would think so.i basically cango with what i have now and accomplish the goals that i wanted to.anything extra is a bonus. i wanted a second transfer case, subframe is accomplishing that.... i wanted as low gears as i could get, well, i have 4.44s and 6.5 t-case gears(i didna go with 8-1 because i may drive it on the street occasionally, and they are like 200 more dollars) i wanted to get mad lift and clearance, and i have it out back so far. and i wanted to spend less than 2 grand doin it.so far i am about 850 into it.having or trading for most of it has worked out well.,we'll see how long it takes me to put solid axles under it after it is "done".. and a fuse is a fuse!:lol:anyways,i hope to have it done by my birthday......in june.cheers, brian
  22. i' m gonna wait for you to go DOH!!!:lol:cheers, brian
  23. yep,it is low....... 4.44 diffs 3.545 first gear 1.592 low subie 6.5 low sammy =162.875 so i think we'll just call it 163:1 :grin:cheers, brian
  24. got some parts today......... hehehhehhehhehehehheh needless to say,STOKED!!!!!!!gotta get a shifter sheet, and take a look at the main bearings in the case.if they are ok, i will reseal, regasket and install!!!!!a little ways out for when it actually goes in, butWOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!cheers, brian
