The impreza clutch won't work. Try this: ebay stock clutch If you want to upgrade: ebay XT6 clutch

good job! Pop the hood and try loosening the clutch cable a little, it might give you a little more use out of the clutch. Maybe enough to assist while being pulled home.

I think the '87 and later bumpers are the sturdier. They're the ones with the turn signals "underneath" the bumper instead of in the middle of it. You can UPS a bumper if it's reasonably clean. Just wrap the mounting arms in cardboard and protect the wiring harnesses. Fedex definitely if not UPS.- My BRAT is stuck in a 5 foot drift
Call the state patrol. Or call a local news agency's weather department and ask them to arrange getting it out for some sweet footage.- Brown Beast: Time for AWD
Could be. I have the RX low shifter, and an XT pistol grip shifter that's been short-throw'd.- tires rubbing on windshield washer reservoir
yeah, yeah.- tires rubbing on windshield washer reservoir
I run that size tire on a wagon with a 4" lift and shocks an inch longer. When turning, my tires rub on the mudflaps a little ( I need to trim them) and on the framerails in back. If you're serious enough to be running tires that size you may as well throw a lift on the car so you can really use it.- Brown Beast: Time for AWD
What about using the 3.9 pinion stuff from an XT6 FT4WD transmission in an RX? If you started with the complete XT6 transmission, you could end up with an RX transmission with all of the RX features but 3.9'd... right?- Brown Beast: Time for AWD
I kind of like the angle because it makes it easier to grab the shifter real quick.. like when I want to shift from 2LO to 3HI really fast.- Lets see your ea82 custom front bumpers
That aint no ea82 whut i ever seen- EJ22 and D/R 5MT into my 84 hatch - now with photo updates!
If you put your temp gauge sender in the radiator, your engine could be overheating due to a stuck thermostat and you won't know until it's too late.- Pin in Axel STUCK!!

If we had to choose one member's car for a USMB mascot, I'd nominate the Griz Have fun with it and... if you sell it, talk to Mick first!- head removal
- EA81 loopy bumper on EA82?
Hey Rob, thanks for the pic Has anyone ever tried to fit one of these bumpers to an EA82 car? With or without the EA81 bumper-fender-markerlight pieces?- head removal
I'm remembering that oil pump on your Brat's engine- "USE THIS TUBE TA SEAL EVVRYTHIN!"- '86 XT FSM Needed...
I have an entire set for 86. I think XT is in there too. It's not scanned, though. I can give you a call this evening and refer to it over the phone if that would help. I could always make photocopies and fax them to you...- so, whats 40 divided by nine?

You are my new hero.- Brat rear disk brakes
The proportioning valve issue has come up a lot.. I believe it to be a legitimate concern. You're basically looking at carrying over the same proportioning valve from the donor vehicle, right?- Advice on Subaru Brat
also expect new motor mounts and transmission mounts unless you like changing axles twice a year. I think the key is your definition of "heavy car parts." Cummins 6yl engine block? No. Extra Subaru engine and transmission? Yes. A small trailer might be a good solution for stuff that's truly "heavy." Likewise, a heavy-duty tarp would mitigate the condition of your Brat's bed against the crap you take to the dump and scrape out with a shovel. I've had a Brat and would endorse a Legacy engine swap - this will buy you a little more weight to carry but keep in mind that the rear unibody and suspension have their own opinion unrelated to torque/hp. If you're not a contractor, or if you don't have large/heavy/long items to transport yourself, go ahead. Just think of it as a Subaru wagon without a roof- out with the old.......
