  1. I had a boot blow on me today, at least I think it was today, took a right hand turn a little hard and the wheel jumped a couple of times, pavement was uneven as well to aggravate the issue. Got to my destination and looked at the boot which was on the inside of my turn and sure enough split open. Got the joint pulled apart and I am wondering about whether I can use the axel/bearing or not. The race has this rub mark all the way around. Would I be safe in continuing to use this axel and bearing?
  2. Yep, asking prices are made to come down. People don't feel like they are getting a deal if they don't get the price lower.
  3. Somewhere in the parts you took apart, I bet there was something giving a bad ground.
  4. With it in running condition, I would give $750 for it, not much more though.
  5. Great job John! Keep up the good work!!
  6. Nice idea, need to consider this too.
  7. Yes if you are hearing clunking such as that, that is a pretty good indicator that the cv is shot. I would replace at least the right one, the left one probably isn't far behind either. Since you'll have it all apart any way it would be worth a few more C notes to do the axels too.
  8. Nice Brat, good luck with your restore.
  9. Has anybody tried this conversion, ie: dumping the points and rotor. ?? http://www.hot-spark.com
  10. Then I've thought about getting this to match up with the 2.2 and drive train, then I don't have enough room for all this....ugh!!
  11. Yeah I'm dealing with an EA82 that overheated right now, sent an oil sample off for testing. Thought about getting the 2.2 to put in the Loyale...thoughts??
  12. What exactly is the model of car you're talking about?
  13. Welcome aboard bud, glad you found us. I think all the BRATS are just lovely, IMHO. Best of luck on your search for info.
  14. Yeah, I have ordered and received some of these, I just need to get my original circuit board back so I can put them in.
  15. Seriously thinking about getting this pair of engines. Is this an okay price, Subaru parts don't come for sale very often? What should I look for when looking at them? Best way to tell if I shouldn't purchase them? http://wichita.craigslist.org/pts/4394836243.html
  16. Another clue....makes me think this engine must have gotten really hot. Still thinking I might send oil off for analysis though. Thoughts???
  17. Once again thrown away something that would have been useful at a later time Doesn't happen very often for the amount of stuff I still have Any other ideas of cluing into what the bottom end of this might be like without tearing into it. I don't want to spend a bunch more dollars so I can scrap it in the end. Maybe there is enough in the pan that I could send that off hopefully so, will be checking that when I get home. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  18. So the filters that come with Weber Carbs do they fall in same category as the K+Ns?
  19. Pics finally to explain a little more.
