  1. I'm sure some of you will find this ammusing...but here they are
  2. SO here's one I have not seen before...and always seeem to struggle with. For us EA81 people there is very limited places to put speakers. What I'm looking for is pictures of placements of speakers. Where do you put em? What works best? I have found a few places...but none look so great. I'll get some pics up soon. It seems like whenever I use the door, it just shoots the sound down around my feet. I've got some nice 5 inches in the dash, a sub in the back, small tweets on the dash, and some more in the door ( that seem sort of useless ).. So post your pics. I'm curious. Thanks- Ryan B

    Video!

That's effin ridiculous and I love it!
  4. You got my favorite year of wagon, in my favorite subaru color, and you are doing the exact motor swap i don't have the balls to try yet...big respect. I can't wait to see it all done. Also can't wait to see the progress..what tranny are you gonna use?
  5. Awesome Danny! So happy to see that thing moving again!!
  6. WIth the adjustable rear struts...can you adjust them up while they are on the car? If not, how do you adjust them? Do you need to compress the springs and then the whole thing just turns to the next notch or what? Thanks for any help, sorry I'm ignorant on this subject.
  7. I'm pretty sure that your car has hydraulic lifters, and can therefore not be adjusted. Only solid lifters. I THINK so.
  8. Yea, no sputtering. It just straight turns off. I have nopt had the car back to look at it yet, but I'm suspecting electrical..we will see. I need to get a longer look when I have more day light.
  9. I really like 5, but with the mountains from 7. Damn bro...those are some photshoping skills. Looks good.
  10. Thanks for the info...I'll look into both of these things. GD. will the float level issue be obvious to the eye if I take the float bowl apart and check it out? It's a hitachi I think, but it also may be one of those crappy carter's..haven't looked that closely yet. In any event, lets hope I can get is fixed.
  11. I'm trying to help a buddy get his car running strong. After six months of sitting , we did a full tune and the thing purs. It runs abaout as strong as 1.8 with the swampers. Only problem is, every time we make a hard right, the little ea71 shuts off. I have never experienced this before. I tried to search around, but had little luck. Anybody ever dealt with this? Any insight for me? Thanks, Ryan B
  12. LOLZ LOLZ LOLZ, I love it when you can suprise someone with the abilities of a Subaru. They never cease to amaze poeple that were previosuly un-aware of the capalities. (myself included, which is why I'm now such a fan)
  13. My two cents...I just bought new front axles from Napa for $80 each. They came with a life time warrenty. That seems like a pretty good deal to me.
  14. I think I know what your problem is... Check the light connection right in front of the battery ( side marker i think ). It happened to me, that the battery acids had eaten through the power wire ( leaving it exposed) and would touch the body of the car and short out the fuse EVERY time I turned it on. Check there!
  15. Yea..it was sparking when I connected it so that must be the problem. Damn, this alt is like 2 months old. I hope I can find the reciept so I can return it. We will see. Thanks for the help guys, I really apreciate it. I still don't see why though. It started to spark before I ever changed the wire. I assume it's probably terrible to drive it when it's like that?
  16. So here's the scenario...the other day I hooked up these new head lights I got off E-bay... They were after market and weren't wired correctly. They had two powers ( i guess a high beam ) and a ground. After some testing I thought I had hooked them up properly. Cut to two days later...I'm driving and my stereo and sub start cutting in and out ...then the whole car .. I noticed my battery was at 4...then it dies . So first it was the stereo because it draws the most power, but then it was the whole car. Alright. I get out and look around. The cable coming from the alt ( the big screw down one, not the clip to the excite circut ) was fried. I assumed it was the headlights...so I unplugged them. I then took the ground cable off my sub ( and disconnected the rest of the power to the sub ) and used the ground cable ( becuase its big and fat ) as a power cable for the alt. I basically just ran the alt to the battery.. So problem solved...well, for a minute. Now, it's happened again, only I'm confused. I put the stock lights back in, so I don't get it. Even with just a fatty power cable going from the alt to the battery it's still frying the conncetion and causing the battery to fail to charge.. Can anyone help? This alternator was a brand new re-furb from Napa about a mounth ago so either the lights being wired wrong originally fried it and now it's got problems...or I missing something bigger. Any suggestions...??!?! PLEASE!!!?!
  17. Let me get my old set of stocks back from my friend, they are just in her garage. I'll give em to you for nothing, there on bleh bleh stock rims but whatev.
  18. I never used a drill press once. Just a drill. I beleive it was a 9/16 drill bit ( can't be sure). I just took an old drum break, punched 2 of the studs opposing eachother, flipped it over, and drilled through the back using the 2 wholes where the studs used to be as guides. After I drilled the wholes, then I beveled them with a counter sink but. It's not nearly as complex as it sounds, it took like maybe an hour to do all four rims, and since two of the wholes are already there, you only need to do two per rim. You do HAVE to use a 6 lug rim though to get the space for the wholes, the 5 lug rims will have overlapping wholes.
  19. I second what they both say. I've drilled rims on three cars so far with no issues, just for sure make sure you bevel that whole or else your lug nuts will back off on there own.
  20. Good to know, I'll check it out. Maybe I'll try and re-do the clips and make them better resolution. Thanks for the tip
  21. Yeah, I couldn't import the video's into Adobe Priemer without them making that huge border/frame around the outside. Because of the borders the video was like twice the file size it should of been, so I kept making it smaller. It was my first time usung any sor of video editing. I'll figure it out. Next time I go out I'll get ahold of you guys; Chaz, Sanders, Pete, and anyone else who wants to go. The thing is i ALWAYS work weekends...so I usually go out like wed, thurs, or friday.
  22. Awesome vidoe man! Good stuff. What's in the brat? That can't be a 1600 acting like that.
