  1. Maybe its the air suction valve. Maybe it blew up the silencer. Check the hoses between the exhaust end of the cyl head and the air cleaner.
  2. I am missing a 3'+ long prybar. If anybody has it please let me know.
  3. I cry when I see one of those in the JY. Such great little beasts. They have their quirks but they are so unique. I can't wait to get my 83 TW running.
  4. Yay, everybody is home. Miles or Zanny if you can mail me that sweatshirt Joy loaded Zanny that would be great.
  5. What cross referenced part number are you looking for?
  6. It also seems like it would be better suited to keeping moisture out of the engine with all the bends it makes compared to the cold air intake setups I have seen. But nobody here drives their Subaru thru deep puddles, streams, etc.
  7. Looks like a fantastic weekend. Thanks for taking pictures....makes me jealous.
  8. Joy thinks she might have some in car footage of me trying to dig my wheel wells out in the mud. 3-5 second movies. As soon as that is confirmed and uploaded I will let people know where I have it stored. -Shawn
  9. IM going to vote too. 1. Mick's Brat-limps home with fuel, trans, clutch and axle issues after being so strong on the mud road, trying to help people and efforts after the disaster trying to help everyone. Oh and taking care of Sube overnight too! 2. Kurt's Brat--My dad really liked this one and the rear seat he installed was so cool. 3. Vickaroo-first person to make it out alive and make it thru both miles of the road.
  10. Sorry Mick. Fixed that. I got a lot of respect for that beast after this weekend. Hobbling home with the LR tire hopping from a bad axle and running with 2 broken fronts and only moving cuz of an LSD. Amazing.
  11. Vote for the categories below please by replying. Im not doing a poll because I need to know who voted and its only open to attendees. If you want your vote to be less public just IM/PM it to me. Category one...(top voter was Mick's Torreador Red brat with 5 votes on paper ballots but lets be sure): Vehicle that seems like it could go anywhere. Category two: Best Old Gen Category three: Crowd Favorite
  12. Moot point now but I will have the awards again. At this point I only know the 2/5 award winners and unfortunately its me that won one of them. Highest Mileage Subaru in attendance-My Brat With 196,650+. New Gen Subaru Award-Matt Welk, 01 Legacy GT. Only new gen car in attendance but a really nice one and he "survived" Gumbo road. Only 6 ballots were received before the tour drive so I am going to place a poll for each category on the forums here for the remaining 3 awards.
  13. "A little mud" didnt keep me from driving it home. I toasted the clutch pretty bad and my brat was drug thru the mud like a Farmers plow on Saturday night when I wasn't there. It went a lot deeper than most did and I just wanted to play it safe. My Brat has 196k miles on it and I want to keep the original engine going to 300k. That would be something to be proud of for Jerry and I. I am pretty sure that Ruzilla is a similar story his clutch smelled awful and he tried to pull that van out which really didn't help his.
  14. Lots of mud fell off mine on the way home apparently. I am really glad I waxed my Brat right before the meet the mud is said to come off a lot easier. Heres 3 pics my parents took when they got it back to the shop. http://usmb.net/gallery/Midwest-2
  15. I just was on the phone with Kurt he is in St Louis on the way to work. He got home at 2am. The only person that has not been confirmed as at home and safe now is Matt with the Legacy GT. I will try to reach him as soon as I have his number again (Joy has it).
  16. My brat is now at my folks shop, they trailered it for me. Decided not to risk driving it packed full of goo. They were going to take a picture to send me of how messy it is.
  17. Does anybody know details on price for the tow out, etc? I need to know as much as possible as I am sending my folks after it. -Shawn
  18. I have phoned Subiemech and Eyesore and they are aware that their vehicles are out. I don't have Vicky's number if any of you do please IM me with it or call her yourself and reply here. Please also be on the lookout for the shovel that is missing! -Shawn
  19. I just called Brian and I got thru! ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT FOR ONE OF THE RESCUE FORD TRUCKS HAVE BEEN RECOVERED AND ARE PARKED AT THE HOUSE AT THE END OF THE MUD ROAD WE WERE ALL CONGREGATING AT! HE DIDNT HAVE MANY MINUTES TO TALK SO WE KEPT IT SHORT. Vehicle damage report: Legacy: Ground effects kit damage and tire damage. Kurt: Seems okay just VERY MUDDY. Mine: Ran and all 4 wheels would turn. More details to come.
  20. I think you will be alone on that. I think this may have soured the ambition to go play on flat land ever again for most people. If you do go play in the mud have a friend or family member that owns either a Military Helicopter, hovercraft or a tank tractor and a lot of guts.
  21. Automatic transmission seemed to win over most with dual ranges too. Dave Valiant had a 3.70 Turbo traction auto and made it out. Hes definately good with the rig too but thats truly amazing.
  22. Yep a few made it out. Mick Vickaroo 88XT6Joe in his wagon Dave Valiant Believe it or not I think the people with bald tires were better off. Same thing with Auto Trans. The mud didnt stick into the tires as bad and it was easier to clean the tires out when they did stop. Forward momentum with a torque converter seemed rather good too as they could wail on it and not burn their clutch out like some of us would.
