  1. 2 Brats at Harrys in Hazelton. The Grey one seemed to be somewhat in tact down below (aside from some floor pan rot). I'd try to at least yank out the new torsion bar. In fact if you're not in a hurry I'll go up next Saturday as I'd like a new front hub for when mine finally craps out. Make sure you take a real long breaker bar!!!! I do have a driveshaft if yours took a crap. As for the high top congrats. Now you are a member of the Brat with a Hat club. Zap bathroom cleaner works wonders on the shell. I just shined mine up yesterday after the rain. Wanna get up at 4:30am and head to Windchester with me to do some autoxing????
  2. As an owner of an 03 GT for the same limited slip and side airbag reasons and having driven a 05 GT the handling is very much similar. Personally I like the way the 03 feels a little more as the rear doesn't seem quite as twitchy (my guess is the 05 has a little more front end bias weight to her). As for the hoodscoop so long as you get the Outback turbo it'll have a scoop as well. At least the scoop is now functional unlike the earlier GTs and outback sports.
  3. Do a search, this topic was just discussed. Yes the GT is a much better handling and safer car. Brakes quicker, rides better, handles better. If you're out for safety this is the way to go if you're the 2% that needs that 2 inches of ground clearance then the OB is the way to go.
  4. That's the difference. You don't need a destination when driving a Subie. Personally I would've gone with the GT wagon. Same size, better handling, better braking and a little lighter (oh yeah cheaper too!)... That is unless you're in that 2% of the population that needs that extra ground clearance more than safety.
  5. Yeah, it'll come on at 180k. Do a search. I asked what to do about mine and it was explained. Basically you take one of the wire connectors off and put it onto the othe (empty one). It resets it for another 60k.
  6. Thanks for everyones help. Ordered me some Kelly Tire 195/70r13s . Can't remember the exact name but am told they are very even performers all around. $200 for 4 installed too. I can't complain!
  7. She is across the street and 3 houses down (towards the old Ames Golden Triangle strip mall). Its a brick 1 story with a huge Harley Davidson rock on the porch. Ya should've stopped in. Was the XT there (under her cover) As for the GT want it? I'm definately not a big fan .
  8. Its funny just how small the world is! I try to get all my tires from D&M Tire on the Manheim Pk (across from Merig Kia). One of the owners has a son that is fairly active with the SVX World Network. She definately got a good deal on the car. Seems to be in nice shape. Even though its just a 4 it has 4wd which makes it worth it in my book. I just hope she gets that broken window fixed soon or I'll start using it for parts for mine. Hocrest was a little mad she got it though as I told him I'd work on getting it for him if she didn't want it.
  9. Walmart is the same in my book. A definate no no shopping place if at all possible. As for 14s I like the stock look too much plus I use it as a work truck so I'd be scrapping just about everything when I have it loaded down. So where'd ya meet my neighbor at anyway Matt? Will check out the coopers!
  10. Sorry but I'd never set foot in a warehouse type place as if the workers there are expected to be adults and they don't make a federally mandated poverty wage at their job then to me it is wrong to spend my money at the placd. I was thinking about 195/60r 13s though. Just didn't know if they'd fit. Thanks man.
  11. For the first time in my life (13 years behind the wheel) I had to pull over to the side of the highway (sailboat, trailer and all) to change a freaking flat. Having never used the Brat jack are they really supposed to pick the BRAT up far enough? Luckally it was a rear wheel and I could put the the bottom lugs on the jamb the top in. Not nearly enough clearance even with the jack all the way open. Anyway, I guess I need some new shoes. Currently have 185/80R13 Executive $18 a piece crap on there. Any suggestions on tires. Would like something that'll go in the snow and dirt as I do use it as a work truck for carpentry. Also what is the largest width I can go on the stock alloys???? Thanks for the imput everyone!
  12. Ah, ya should 've called me. I would've done that and traded brats with ya and called it even.
  13. The wire boys get it! I replaced both ends but it seems I developed a kink or something that cracked the wires about midway through the cable. New cable and she's good as new. Just took 5 or so hours.
  14. Okay, I drove the 3 hours to Hocrest's to pick up the starter I went to get on Saturday but forgot in a haze of SVX parts. Put it in and it did the same thang. Click but nothing else. Here's the weird thing I've tried bridging the singe small wire feed and the big cable coming from the battery. Nothing. No sparks or anything but I'm getting 12 volts from the battery. Connections should be good as I replaced them As for the ignition switch. It is out and it does the same thing when I turn it with a screw driver... just clicks. Now before I try to locate another one is there any way I can test it to be sure it is the ignition switch??? Bridging wires etc?? If so which wires to bridge?
  15. Moosens, I should be going on Saturday. Looking for anything in partic?
  16. My brat won't start. It clicks but that's it. Replaced the brushes. Same thing. Checked the connections and am getting 12 volts to the starter. Any ideas? I thought that if the starter was bad (not the brushes that it wouldn't click).
  17. I'll be arriving sometime around 8ish depending on how my poker night goes. See everyone Sat am!
  18. Take 95 North. The beltway in Washington is west 495 I think but don't quote me. In Baltimore take 695 WEST you can quote me. Get off 695 and take 83 North into PA and through York. You'll hit New Cumberland maybe 20-25 miles into PA. There is an Exit for the PA turnpike at the middle N.C. exit. Take the turnpike west 2 exits to the carlisle exit. Ask directions there but basically you want to stay to the right when merging onto the road, go to the Hess G. S. and make a left then keep going until you see gate 3. Have a safe drive everyone!
  19. Don't forget that hat. I will look so Dashing for reg. two vehicles...
  20. Now Keith where were ya when I asked about who was going on Friday? I'm scheduled to work in Baltimore. Maybe I'll get home around 4ish and pop over as I have to pick the wife's car up from getting body work in the area.
  21. Ah, so long as your careful driving and you're not in bad shape underneath around the bar and of cours with the bar you can easily get 2000lbs or so in her. Granted it isn't pretty but for short local trips she'll handle just fine so long as turning isn't planned.
  22. A few days to go! Weather is to be hot and humid as it has been in the area for a few weeks now. Plan to get a rain shower or two but should be much nicer than last year! Dutch Wonderland is a GREAT place for the younger kids and it isn't nearly the price of HersheyPark (although it is owned by Hershey). It is about a hour plus from Carlisle. Basically hop on the T-pike go the the Harrisburg east exit and take 283 til it turns into 30 in Lancaster. Wave to my wife as you pass the Litiz Pk/Oregon Pk exit.
  23. Yeah duty sol. c will cost ya about $600 to get replaced. That's a heck of a lot of gas.
  24. I'm not real close but you can always park at my place in Lancaster. Another option is to park the cars at Penn National (might be 10 minutes from the park).
  25. Yeah, cleaning the SVX up today in that 85 degree heat really took a lot out of me. I guess I should put some new pads on her too.
