  1. my point exactly. get the factory rally sport model and trick it out.
  2. No drooling on the WRC champ pls! Wish I could go! Joy'zee is a long drive!
  3. Awsome swap man! Tell Goover to quit sitting there looking cute and to lend a paw!
  4. Forget the ebrakes; just floor it. :-p Momentum 4 teh win!!!11111
  5. I just feed the stub into the hub assembly from the rear, hold the CV really right and pull toward me, then hammer on the hub face in a circular patern (read: BFH). Since the control arm is undone from the main crossmember it swings inward as I pull the axle outward. Hardes part is keeping the stub horizontal while pounding; it tends to want to point upward and not line up.
  6. My best guess with the above info would be to diagnose the IAC, TPS, and MAF.
  7. Thanks for posting the pics! I'm downloading the movies right now. Lookes like a fun little dirt road you guys were on. I saw a glimse of McBrat's brat in one photo; hard to miss that cherry red brat!
  8. This idea obviously hasn't been fully thought through; I can think of two major issues not addressed. Ultimately what is the point? There is a factory Justy rally sport package with push button 4WD. Why not just run that?
  9. Note the post by Arch..... look in the parts book.
  10. People cought wind of the price and said "well thats more than my subaru cost!"
  11. I have two spare EA82 control arms in my garage if you wanna try and swap them or just compare to see if this is true. Send me a PM if you want to come look at them.
  12. Join a local club; they know where the trails are. Seek your a local 4WD association. Join the Blue Ribbion Coallition http://www.sharetrails.org/ and the United 4WD Association http://www.ufwda.org/ as these organizations help keep trails open on a national level. Be active in keeping your trails open or you will simply loose more. Don't wait for the gates and Keep Out signs to go up before you decide something needs to be done. If the gate is up; it's too late. I garuntee if those trails were just closed that more are on the chopping block; act now and save them before it's too late.
  13. Ignore that lady and her automatic Subaru; she obviously has no clue what you are talking about or she'd have had her brakes fixed already! I'm willing to bet she took them to that shop and ended up with the same results but actually belived the bull they are telling you... that is fine and normal. It's not! Are they bleeding in proper order? How exactly are they bleeding your system? I've bleed quarts through my system and still had similar symtoms you describe. Simply drove me nuts! It barely felt safe.... brakes would fully enguage but I had to pump them up like you describe. I finally got my brakes back to normal using the cross directional patern getting that last bit of air out. Demand all your money back from those dudes and go to another shop. It's not your master cylinder. I think there is still air in your system somewhere. You arent loosing fluid so you obviously don't have a leak. Air compresses WAY more easily than the hydrolic fluid in your brake system. Remember your e-brake is cable actuated and seperate from your hydrolic system. It can and will stop you on your way to another shop!
  14. Re: Why do people rely so heavily on compression braking? A: Why not? I'm not worried for one single second about wearing out my clutch any faster. The only time you are wearing the clutch is the action of pressing the clutch pedal down OR letting it out; the clutch is not slipping when the pedal is all the way in or out. It's upto the driver on how long they care to 'slip' the clutch and thus how much 'wear' they put on it. Clutch friction plates wear out prematurely from ppl slipping them too much; not from properly shifting... up or down.
  15. I just ran the math. Its about $100 difference; in the hatch back's favor. However time is money; a lot more time is going to be involved in building an offroad hatch vs repairing my wagon. I didn't factor in the EJ22 swap for either one as I figure its about the same price.
  16. SPOT-FACING A machining process in which the area around a hole is milled to smooth, flat surface by application of a rotating tool with cutting edges on its end or face. ... look where the head of the stud mates to the back of your hub. It's not a flat surface... you mill it down to a flat surface.
  17. I'd love to get Mtn Griz; that is a hot wagon. He doesn't even need to say what he want's for it; out of my budget Plus I'm going EJ22
  18. $400 is very reasonable. As Humble Nuto pointed out you can do it yourself for half that. Upto you.
  19. Its more than putting a Toyo tranny in there. Then Id have to mount a diff up front; that's a minimum of 6" lift. At that point I might as well be doing solid axles. Again more than I can do before next season. Last thing I want to do is spend half or all of next season finishing my ORV. Hatch + 4" or 6" lift + EJ22 swap will be plenty of work.
