In america for the EA-82 they have 2 or 3 three inch is 355 and if you send back your steering link you get 25 back, or at least you have in the past, go for the three with PK and you will never regret it, i have had one for over a year and love it, i havn't seen mudrats lifts in person but i can vouch for his quality and craftsmanship, i havn't heard of a dissatisfied customer of his, ever, so either way you will be garunteed to enjoy the lift, they are worth every penny. word of caution the lift will not increase ground clearance but the bigger tires taht you can run will, 28's are about max with minor trimming, and peugot rims are the way to go for bigger wheels, stay away from the 309 metrics which are 15.3 inches, or you can redrill hubs or wheels to fit like toyota 6 bolts.
  2. you may have explained this already, but what have you done about the brakes, even with the 27's the brakes seem inadequate, so i can imagine that with 31's it would stop slowly but you said that it put you against the harnesess, so it gets me thinking what i can do to my brakes?
  3. I know we tried somthing last year but it fell through and by the time we settled on a date i was back i washington, hows about after new years sound?
  4. So where you michiganders at? and when is a good time to play in the mud or have a show and shine? Big Rapids Hour north of grand rapids
  5. I had mine just disconected and boy did that cause a problem once i got stuck, one end go stuck under a root and backing up the other end dug into the ground, you might be able to just take off one side but i'd reccomend all or nothing as you may have problems if its half on.
  6. I don't know if your 83 which i'm assuming this weber would go on, i also have the 32/36 and love it, but check if you have hydraulic lifters, if you do you have the bigger valves, if you don't i would reccomend a trip to the pap and getting some hydro lifter heads, weber won't do much good with the small valves.
  7. I've been really sad that we havn't had any snow around here yet, usually we get a good dusting by now. but then i went out two trackin, and decided that the last month of rain makes up for it, mud mud everywhere. i can't wait till we get snow out here, then i will be out like you with the tow strap pulling people out of ditches and parking spots.
  8. I havn't had my front swaybar on for about 5 months, its fine day to day and i havn't noticed any real adverse effects on handleing. you have to take off the exhaust manifold if you don't cut the bar, just a thought, had some problems with that in reiters pit. i wouldn't put it back on though much nicer with it off.
  9. use an EA-82 carby intake better than the EA-81 version, and use 84 and up heads, bigger valves, better breather, and if you got the scratch check out delta cams, austin may be able to hook you up with the number, but if you go with a better cam you will need better springs, call up http://www.Ramengines.com, phone # on their site, very helpful
  10. my car failed horribly, then i got it good and hot and went back, passed with flying colors, get it good and hot and burn out that stuff thats been sitting in it for the las few months, get some new fuel and try again.
  11. Am i the only one having problems getting the EA-82 pdf?
  12. try ram engines http://www.ramengines.com
  13. As always for starters check the fluid level while its idleing in park, the fluid should be red not brown, and it should not have metal shavings in it, if it smells burnt its time for a flush. thats what usually causes tranny problems, that should be a good place to start
  14. So here's what i did, i tore out the entire dash, and swapped it with the other car, not just the insturment cluster but the entire dash, took about a day and all i have left is the headlight and wiper switch but other than that she's good to go, the oil pressure dosn't work but i'm working on that.
  15. Excellent, i just printed them off, now i get to figure out if this swap is possible or if i should just get custom gauges, thanks a bunch, you are a life saver.
  16. Any comment is help, thanks Ed. i just mapped out the back of the dash, both sides with the round connectors and the center section, for all the door open lites and the such, it would be nice to get those all to work although i could live with out a few, but 4wd and the hi beams are pretty necessary.
  17. hey guys:wave: if i have to figure this out all by myself i won't share when i'm done:rolleyes: ok i probably will, bump
  18. I don't have a digi cam, but i'm in the res halls so someones bound to have one, which one did you need the one by the wiper motor or the purge control solenoid, i should have both , the green one definately, i'll look for a camera to load pics tomorrow
  19. As much as i love my subaru, i don't think that i would have been so excited about it and lifted it and put swampers beneath it if it wasn't for the folks on the board. its like cheers, some times you want to go where everyone knows your (board)name. The seattle croud has helped me with the car so much, i was going to do individual shout outs but i figured after the 10th person it was time to stop. so here's a howdy to all you on the left coast:wave: On a similar note the diff i got from toybuilder is already in the mail, hows that for prompt, its been a day and a half.
  20. I have a DL which as those with DL's know left somthing to be desired in the dash area, my DL dash is at 214,000 miles and i have a GL parts car and dash with 216,000 which gives me 2000 miles to figure out how to get the GL dash in the DL, which brings me to the purpose of this post 1, has anyone done this conversion on an EA-82, and if you have should i give up now. 2, Does anyone have any wireing diagrams or FSM's that they could either post, sell, or let me borrow,i'll gladly pay shipping and a deposit if thats an issue. 3, is the GL and the DL computer different, if i switch the front wiring harness will i also have to switch the computer. 4, the sensors for the fuel, speed, rpm, oil, volts and temp, are they already used by the engine or do i also need to find some sensors like the oil pressure sensor that i already know i need. if you could follow that, first give yourself a pat on the back, and then if anyone has any ideas, help or warnings, i'm all ears.
  21. I have everything but the stuff on the tranny and a few hoses, i did the dual range conversion so i have just about everything sorry bout the wait
  22. a lot changes in 20 years, i was in diapers sucking on a bottle, now i spend my time in more admirable pursuits, like offroading the suby. whats new in the auto world today is old news within 2 years.
  23. The ozified lift to me seems, "better" it dosn't affect any part of the car except wheel well clearance, no changes in camber caster or toe, everything is as it was from the factory, i have yet to see someone who was dissatisfied with the pkdavis lift. its cheap, well not as bad as it could be, already made and could probably be shipped before thanks giving, and there bullet proof, the car will give way before the lift components.
  24. If you need the soleinoid i got em, shippng and handeling and there yours, may still be cheaper in the junk yard though
