Up date as distraction gets closer to being done and the deal on the ring and pinion has fallen though im going to build it mid-engine 2wd ej and drive it! Better than waiting on big$$$ parts. That and ive never had a true mid-engine rail.

Smaller tires? I have ran 2.3 fords in 3 built off road toys i always end up buying adjustable cam pully to adjust torque range. Maybe hho? Or race fuel?
