Stock backspacing
I did this for the wheels page. this was for the wagon wheels... andafterreading the text, it was very early on in my subaru life, because I didn't know the diff between backspacing and offset

clocked or not clocked
I've only raised them up once. somebody else please chime in if I miss something... do one side at a time.... TO LOWER: ---------------------- take off wheel remove 3 bolts that hold trailing arm to the torsion bar plate. (you may have to raise up the ear hub with a jack to loosen the pressure....) loosen bolt on collar of torsion bar plate. make a mark across the end of the torsion bar and the plate to get a reference line. tap the plate to get it to slowly slide to the outside of the torsion bar, but go slowly. as you clear the splines, do not pull the plate completely off, unless you are confident in your marks you made earlier rotate the plate up 1 spline. like you are swinging towards the rear window. (drivers side will be counter-clockwise, pass side will be clockwise) (swing the plate down for lifting) check you marks to be sure you only moved 1 spline... re-assemble. (may have to jack up the hub again) repeat for other side.

there are 2 "pull your own" yards around here that we could make a trek too as well...

clocked or not clocked
to me, that looks clocked... my pics are in my gallery, and I just link directly to them, instead of putting the attachement on....

clocked or not clocked
the brat on right has 3" lift, with front cranked up about .5" the braton the left has 5" lift on front, but heavy bumper/winch combo, and a 3" lift in rear with torsion bar clocked that gives it another 2 basically.... go drive over some railroad tracks.... with the torsion bar clocked, it's stiff... and rough granted, the wagon won't sit as high in the back, but might give you a visual reference..... this is a 3" lift, no clocking... but torsion barcranked up

help me pick some wussed out tires please
I looked at those too, for my 87 Wagon. I went into Firestone to look at some ATs there, and ended up with these... http://www.lemanstire.com/tires/catalog/lemans-at.jsp http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3702&sort=1&cat=640&page=1 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3703&sort=1&cat=640&page=1 I really like them..... I've had the BFG AT's in the past, and they didn't last me very long with a lot of hiway driving....

solid/hydraulic years?
you don't have to adjust the valves ever is one of them....
-
what happened to my previous thread?
try loggin out and logging back in after you have crossed the 10 count mark.... I was going to tack on your post count from EZ board, but your user name is unregistered over ther now, and doesn't show a post count anymore....
-
what happened to my previous thread?
yes, visibility of the Marketplace is based on post count. (need to have 10, so you're 1 away). there is another post in the help forum regarding this, that gives a good explanation of what has changed and why.
-
solid/hydraulic years?
yes, that is correct. a 84 MT wagon with original motor should have solid lifters...
-
solid/hydraulic years?
'85+ Brats and Hatches had hydo lifters '84 soobs with Auto tranny had hydro lifters '83 soobs (possibly had hydro lifters if AT) all ea81T had hydro lifters all 80-82 motors had solid lifters.

Rebuilding motor mounts with urethane
I did my motor and tranny mounts, and let them cure for about 7 days before installing. have had them in almost a year now with no problems.... just a lot of vibration.....

WRC goes back to its roots...
nice catch.... here's the tires on it.... largest size available on the Pirelli site: 225/55 R 15 went back to the pic, and re-measured, and come up with a 137mm bolt pattern... bit I figure with the margin of error possible, that it's still a 140mm pattern.

WRC goes back to its roots...
Originally I thought they were 17's without looking. still looks like 16 to me. there's a spec on the front wheel, which clouds it up, so I went to the back wheel. to me, it doesn't have the hard line of the 5... plus there's not much difference between a 5 and a 6 in that type of font

WRC goes back to its roots...
okay, I found some high res shots here.... http://www.swrt.com/689369.html I took the large side shot and did some measurements. The wheels are 16's, and measuring the screen image, and doing the math, I come up with 5.5" bolt pattern

Vapor seperator lines...
on the ea81 and carbed ea82 there are 3 fuel lines coming into the engine bay. Primary feed Fuel Return line Vapor Return/Vent line you can plug up the fuel return line, but the vapor vent line needs to stay open if your fule system is still stock in the rear with your vapor canister. if you have the tank vented already, then you can plug them. when I first installed a weber, I plugged everything, then while driving on the interstate, it started to choke and sputter and quit on me. I had used enough fuel that it had created a vacuum and the pump couldn't overcome that vacuum. I could barely get the fuel cap off. in fact I nearly got a face full of gas because of the "backdraft" effect when I opened it. on my current webers, I leave the vent tube open up in the corner of the engine bay, so it's be very hard for it to be submerged

Where to start?
Welcome! My UK brochures show that the GT was a model designation within the Leone series. It was the "sport" model. had disc brakes on all 4 wheels, rear adjustable headrests (sedan), etc.... almost everything the GL models had, but couple of interior things. the GT series had the air dams and spoiler kits it seems.... and most importantly, it was MPFI whereas all the other models were still carbed... it should have the overhead cam EA82 engine.
