Midwest 3 - Interest thread
Was hoping to do it early again, like April-June could do August too. July and Sept. are totally shot for me..... we could stay around the Des Moines area. more services, hotels, etc... not many dirt roads though.... there's a mild (according to Jeepers) off-road place near Iowa City, which is 2 hours east of Des Moines...

anyone tried running a 4bbl on their soob?
the adapter you speak of won't fit the hitachi intake, but comes *close* to mating up with the weber adapter. would have to be modified slightly.

Midwest 3 - Interest thread
okay, starting to kick this around..... last year for the MudFest, we had people from: Iowa (5 vehicles) (2 of these are now in CO, and 1 other is headed for the AirForce) South Dakota (3 vehicles) Missouri (1 vehicle) Wisconsin (2 vehicles) (one is now in Boise, ID) Indiana (1 vehicle) Nebraska (2 vehicles) Midwest 1 was a day trip, held in Omaha, NE right by the Missouri River at a nice park. Midwest 2 was held in a sticky Gumbo Mud Bog in Western Iowa Midwest 3: where should it be....? have already had a couple of votes for "Not in a muddy cornfield" Since we are all spread out, do we want to do the camping thing again? and hope for better weather.... Thoughts?

power to the lights on roof?
How has everyone done theirs? on my old '82 Mountain Grizzly Wagon, I ran a wire all the way to the back, and came out the rear hatch at the top so the wire just layed over the seal... then to the roof rack? My '80 wagon has a wire coming up the inside of the B pillar, and then out through the window seal to the lights.

Steering wheel time. *pics, WRX installed*
yes, Gen1/Gen2vehicles have interchangeable steering wheels. the blue wheel in the pic was one I got on eBay. it's not a MOMO, just a "clone" that uses the MOMO 6 bolt pattern. I also got the MOMO adapter off eBay.

USMB stickers
I have dimension info on the 4WD Turbo decals and the XT6 decals, just haven't gotten around to finalizing them yet.... plus I can make them almost any size you need........ (I just need to get a bit more organized in my new desk area....) there are a couple of different styles of "4WD" as well, so if you want an exact repro, send me a pic of what you have along with dimensions based on the letters, not the clear extended part of the original decals. Vanislru was looking for those same Turbo decals.....

the splines are the same.... I'm sure there is some subtle difference, or they'd be the same part no.

USMB stickers
hey, do you happen to have a pic of them on?

USMB stickers
thanks for the Plug the USMB decals show discontinued, but I still have 2 black ones left..... one of the things on my "to do" list is to come up with a USMB 2005 decal....

Steering wheel time. *pics, WRX installed*
the splines are the same, but I'm guessing how the horn stuff works isn't compatible, (espec. based on Wills last post....) I'm guessing that's why the adapter would be listed for the ea82.... but the splines are what matters the most so so happy "wheeling"

Steering wheel time. *pics, WRX installed*
my blue one cost about the same. I got it mainly 'casue I didn't have tilt in the 80 wagon, and the wheel was a lot smaller.... kind of weird getting used to, especially w/o power steering.....

LSD swap question
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=14957&group_ID=2358&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog and Qman posted on another thread about using this with one of the impact drivers that you hit with a hammer to break them loose. the bolt heads like to twist off, so be careful....

update: pb blaster didnt work :( Best penetrating oil for rusted screws?
those particular screws on the filler trim are a pain, even on a rust free one from TX... I ended up cutting/drilling them out.... I'd spray on the PB Blaster every day for a week, on the top side, and the bottom side after cleaning the snot out of it.....

- webers are pain
something to keep in mind also, is tht they will run crappier with bad mpg if the disty vac advance is bad.... I put the old MityVac on the disty this morning, and no vac at all. wasn't even a slow leak. wouldn't hold anything... luckily I had a new one handy, so I replaced mine this morning and everything is running much smoother...- 83-84 Clutch with 82 BRAT (UPDATE!)
you want me to send out those 2 TOB/holders I had pics of? they are no use to me..... email me your addy if you want them....- LSD swap question
you need to take the stub axles out. that's what requires the E-10 Torx socket. you may need to reassemble eveything first, so as to not damage the bearings on the carrier..... - The RX needs a paint job
