  1. I would dump a can of seafoam into the gas tank to help clean stuff out.... the overflow just went onto the ground in stock form. I've had a couple of ea81's that had overflow bottles added to them though, especially for hotter areas of the country.... also, your shift boot goes out today
  2. just an FYI. my company I work for uses WebSense to block sites, and when I try to go to the WCSS site, it blocks it with the category "Sex".....
  3. http://www.etrailer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=E&Category_Code=WACC the one I have, I got at Northern Tools, but they don't show one on their site....
  4. a good rule of thumb, is to have a winch with 2 times the weight of the vehicle...., but if you use a pulley block, it doubles the pull of your winch.... I've got a 4500 lb pull one on my brat...
  5. this one was aquired in a sort of 3 way trade..... they are out there... there's a board member who has one new in the box, with both Superwinch and SUBARU instructions.... very cool. it's just a Superwinch 1500 lb winch, but it was painted yellow....
  6. sorry, it in the first post in the website thread.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33865
  7. the very first post in this thread has the WCSS7 website, where the registration forms are....
  8. anybody know what the cable length was on them... the one I pulled off seemed to be about 35 feet. it appears to be the original... suppose a 50 ft cable will fit okay?
  9. nope. GEn2 is about 4 inches wider, and the angle from the cab to the bed is slightly different as well...
  10. I threw another xt6 alt in, and all is fine now...with all the lights on and the fan on, it drops to about 12.4-12.6V without anything running it's at about 14.5V. so now I've got 3 dead xt6 alts sitting in my garage... this last one was so "new" looking too.....
  11. Mike, I'm sure this was covered before, but putting into 4 low or high doesn't change anything correct? it's not stuck in the neutral position between 4hi and 4 low? if you have it off, and put it in gear (1st, and 2WD), foot off the clutch pedal, does it even attempt to lurch forward if you tried to start it? (be sure to have open area ahead of you just in case ) no hubs stripped out....?
  12. check this out.... http://www.brian894x4.com/ELECTRICALSYSTEM.html

  18. interesting thought there... I am powering these off my second battery... right now my isolator solenoid is switch on the IGN, but I could change it to have a manual over-ride too. I have a 150 amp waiting in the wings, plus a 200 amp isolator.. just waiting for the impending engine install to do them.... there's an auto-electric guy just around the corner from my house... I should see what kind of a deal he can get me on group XT6 alt rebuilds I think I have 3 dead ones laying around now, plus a dead 135 amp too.... and yes, it's definitely not belt whine..... :-\
  19. well, after fusing my battery into a solid piece of lead by running with my alt pumping out 17-18V for too long, I put in a very new looking XT6 alternator. and a different battery of course runs and charges fine... but.... If I count my "devices" as follows: headlights rad fans off-road lights: outer top set off-road lights: inner top set H3 amber fogs (from a Mercedes) if I have over 2 of the above "devices" running at the same time, the alt starts to squeal. shut them off so there's just 2, and the squeal goes away... is this squeal the SOD for the alt?
  20. yeah, but we had the complication in the rear of 2 of the captive nuts busting loose, which we had to makea few trips to sears and the hardware store for
