Replace the radiator cap. The cap is not functioing properly. As the car cools down, it makes a vacume inside the cooling system. This vacume is used to draw in coolant from the overflow tank. Your cap is not allowing this to happen. nipper

UpdateL Took off the stripe today (and broke a freaking trim peice in the porcess). Blu has super minimal cancer under the strips. So little that mabe a tablespoon of body puter and treatment will fix it. in this case the bubbling made it look far wors then it actually is. Now i need that dumb trim peice. nipper

You may have just answered the question. A weak altenator will throw off everything. you may not be actually be seeing the real temp, but a higher temp due to a lower voltage output (meaning not a thing wrong with the cooling system). What is the alt output at idle with everything off, fans on, and at 1800 RPM with everything on? nipper

What heat range plugs are you running? Are all the emissions controls functioning? What is the output of the altenator? Put a meat themrometer in the radiator coolant after the T-stat has opened and let us know the temp of the coolant. Are the fans running at the proper speed? What happens when you tun the AC on?

thats only for external leaks, not internal leaks. depends upon the year and mileage of your subaru. If it is under 100K no as we may be able to get sooby to pay for all or part of the repair, if it is over 100K then it wont do a thing. nipper

Actually they have newer versions that claim to repair leaks into the combustion chamber. Thats what i thought he was talking about as that is the usual failure mode for soobys. The external leak i just consider a nusance. nipper

Key to avoiding air is simple (ramps arent needed but it helps). Always have the car running when you add coolant. Pour in the coolant SLOWLY. STop when full, wait for the thermostat to open, then SLOWLY add more. Put the cap back on, close the bleeder, drive around the block, let car cool off. Repeat if needed. And always watch the temp gauge when doing this. People get air in the system cause they rush this part (any car can get air, some more prone then others). nipper

Why not just use the drain in the radiator. You do use deionized water afet the garden hose flush or a 50/50 premix i hope. Coolant only really needs to be replaced every 3/36K nipper

We had one use it in another board. It lasted a month. headgaskets are the most complicated gasket in the car with the hardest job. On one side is 15,000-20,000 psi, on the other side is 10-80 psi oil, 14psi coolant, and 28in hg. Throw in temps of zero degrees or lower, water temp of 200 degrees, and 4-5000 degrees F, it is not something that a jar can fix. Also since he has to take his car apart now, i am curious to see if it is even fixable since this stuff is an epoxy resin. Fix the car the right way. nipper

They REALLY are not petable. i went through there one year by motorcycle and got chased by a Bull (Buffalo). They can MOVE! Aparently he didnt like the sound the starter made.
