  1. no its not the gauge direction that changes, its the lighting. Like this http://www.mimousa.com/products/179_b.jpg nipper
  2. If this is all on a test stand, you dont need anything from the TCU to run. Fuel injection does not work well on gasous based fuels. If its alchol you will do better. The tranny interacts with the ECU to momentarilly reduce power during upshifts. The TCU takes alot of information from the ECU, but there is nothing neceassary from the TCU to run the engine. Just look at a manual nipper
  3. remember i am 3 hrs away and not a morning person :-p Though if i can move the business to that sunday... hrmmm i cant say right now. nipper
  4. There it is again, that AM thing i'll pencil it in for now, i know i have a deal in Baltimore i may have to close that weekend or the next. nipper
  5. the oil pressure switch is set at a very low threshold. If for some reason you were getting 5 psi at 3000 rpm, that is not enough lubricant. The light would never come on. nipper
  6. Found that about Rear wheel bearings http://www.endwrench.com/current/Current6/03/WhBearRep.pdf nipper
  7. Don't mistake that "grease" for shipping additive. It looks like grease, but is only to protect the part from rusting. I usually wash the bearings then repack them. nipper
  8. Wow thats wierd. Usually when something like that fails its because an oil journal was blocked off by sealant. Usually the oil pumps are speced out before the engine is reassemebled. There isnt a lot to an oil pump, a couple of gear, a spring, a check ball, and a housing. If its a factory short block, its built by (forget who it is down south that makes diesels). I have been very happy with my short block. Also you have these rascally carbon units assemblying them, and they have been known to err. nipper
  9. Well on the outback board someone is offering std gauges the light a different color at night for 35.00. Before i commit to that i figured I would try this again. nipper
  10. Anyone wnat to get in on this http://www.speedhut.com/15orders_el_detail.asp?auto_number=97&bhcp=1 nipper
  11. Tht switch is P R N D 3 2 1. It has many uses. Its not a just a start interlock switch. It also tells the TCU and ECU what gear the car is in. It just doesnt turn lights on and off. nipper
  12. DMV's do sell thier lists, so it may have come from there too. I use the circular (in my case square with teeth) file for this kind of mail. nipper
  13. Yup, the torque from the engine may put just enough twist on the shaft and bearings to make good contact with the VSS. Eventually this wont work anymore either. nipper
  14. I've only used interstate batteries. Optimas are good if you live in extreeme conditions, or have a huge electrical load, otherwise the extra cost isnt justified. nipper
  15. If they don't know the differnce to begin with its time to find a new dealership. nipper
  16. i dont know that code, but you can start off by cleaning the IAC motor. nipper
  17. Where did you get code 1507 from? They run from p0100 - p0763. IAC codes are P0505, 0506, 0507 nipper
