just get away from this place. Get the car out of there and start a lawsuit. Scream at him, personally i don't care anymore since he has shown himslef to be complete rump roast. I have the subaru write up on diagnises of the subaru tranny from subaru. well that would explain things. Not to pick on anyone, but you would be amazed at how many people don't monitor the dashboard. There was one thread here not too long ago where the poster was amazed that i expected him to monitor his dashboard every so often ( i was taught just to scan it every minute or so). I mean thats why the thing is there. And this was a discussion about the engine temp gauge. Personally i wish they had a buzzer on the oil pressure and engine temps to makwe the idiot lights more er um ... (insert word here) proof. Rebuids talk to CCR, my rebuild for the thrown rod was a dealer rebuild. I dont think there is anything rebuildable on yours. Oil starvation does a lot of damage to both the bottom end and top end of the engine. Lookk for a used engine. nipper

FLuids as long as they are the same type (dextron for example) can be mixed. Fuel injector cleaning unless you have a rough idle and have done a tuneup and have over 100K miles is a huge waste of money. Same with the 36,000 mile brake fluid flush (do it when the brakes are serviced). Another rip off is the power steering flush. Now when you do a tranny change, you dont get 1/2, you get 1/3 out. You need to do it three times to do a complete change (starting the car and running it through prndl). nipper

in reality unless you live in a squre state and your commute is you and a groundhog traveling at 60mph on a traffic free road, you qualify as servere. You know, in all honesty, do what you feel like. An engine costs 5-7000 dollars to rebuild from the dealer. There is no such thing as too many oil changes. If you feel its too long, and it makes you feel uncomfortable, do it at every 5000. Eurpoeans dont drive nearly as much as we do, so dont go by their numbers. nipper

I have done it. I used hellas and used thier kit, but i went with a differnt switch (its in my phots). I made a 90 degree bracket and mounted all my relays in front of the battery on my 97 as they fit really nice there. The bumber skin i used self tapping screws that came with the kit (start them with a pilot hole but tighten by hand). The skin is thick and after a year they are still tight. nipper

I am 99% sure the code will be useless. If they read the code as it happened without turning the car off it would have been readable. If they have trid to start it since then, the code will be cleared. This kind of failure with a no crank is odd, but you can;t tell how the batery is without a load tester. The battery can build itself back up to 14 volts overnight, but wont have any amperage to do any work. Sudden failure like this points to the altenator. I dont think its a starter issue. First thing to do is throw another battery in the car and see if it starts (don't buy one). If iot starts check the output of the alt. It can be your battery is internally shorted (7 years old its about due). nipper
