er um .... new gen subarus already have a cold air intake, thats why it takes air in from the right fender well. Cars have been doing this to some degree since obdII started. You have a link for this airfilter, would like to take a look at it. as far as the begining of the thread, if you have a fender air intake, you already have a cold air system. nipper

skip the spark plugs, as subaru has a rediculously low mileage for this. If the car is running fine let them go. i would also skip the brake fluid untill you need a brake job, as that is another low number everything else you do yourself. DO rotate the tires. no oil change? You may want to add the pcv valve to that list. nipper

how many miles? 250 is low. Can be a tired o2 sensor, can be a tuneup. Check your tires too. Ac you need to have gauges thrown on it, as it may be as simple as low gas in the system and a leaky o ring. last one is a cv joint, an outer in the front. look and see what condition your cv boots are in. nipper

define noise? Have you tried a new fan belt first? nipper -
i never heard of this, but also in the days before AC was common, radiators would on occasion fell pray to the same thing. With the front profile of cars now, its usually the windsheild that takes the hit. With a larger front grill this can happen. Its one of the perils of driving. There is a way to prevent this, but it requires you keeping an eye on things. First possability is to loof for a bra that covers the nose with a mesh. Second possability is to put chicken wire behind the grill. This second one works well BUT you need to check it for leaves and such in the fall. Another way is to not tailgate and follow the 2 second rule. That helps avoid road debree from hitting your car.. nipper nipper

actually the braking thing takes practice. and if you get yourseld in soft enough sand, even the best 4wd can dig in. The LSD doesnt work that way. It will rotate real easily without a load on it. you need a load on one tire and the other tire not slipping to get a good number. The viscous coupling LSD is not like the old cone clutch posi rears. nipper nipper

never turn subaru rotors, they dont like it. Yes there are people here that will say they have had them turned and never had a problem. Not every turning removes the same amount of material. Some remove very little, some remove quite a lot of material. Its just better to replac e them then to do the job twice because they warped from having too much material removed. nipper

the light goes on and off as the fuel moves. Fuel is a liquid and will shift with car direction, but will always initially come on at the same level in the tank, gee i dont see why you have such trouble with that. The gauges have an elcetronic damoer so they dont react as quickly. Tis effect is obvious when you fill the car up, and it takes a few minutes for the gauge to read full. The light means, GET GAS IN 30 miles or sooner. That way you know when to fill up so you can figure out the gas mileage. sheesh nipper
