  1. That was f***ing funny and bad***, but breaks my heart to see a suby torn to pieces like that, (sob, sob). ~Josh~
  2. My 86' GL has this same problem, when your going like 5 miles an hour and you still cant get it into first, and shifting into 3rd form 2nd or 4th is hard and sometimes grinds. First of all, use a broad range weight tranny gear oil, castrol has a good 75w-140 for like 8-10 bucks, secondly, do you know how to double clutch? when coming to a stop and want 1st gear, put tranny in neutral, and rev engine(based on speed that you want to downshift) and then push in clutch and put into gear, what this does is get the first gear gears going near the same speed so the worn synchros have an easier task of mating the gears together. ~Josh~
  3. ya bud you dont have to remove e-brake cable to do your pads, just remember to screw in the single pot caliper, and not beat the s**t out of it with a screwdriver and mini-sledge like i did the first time, lol. A fresh mind is so helpfull when you cant think and are so pissed off that you see red. ~Josh~
  4. Yes, you are totally right, it is a mileage-tripped thing, every 60k miles the light goes on for the mechanic to check the fuse or some ****, happened to me when I hit 180k, on my way to the coast darn thing came on and I was like WTF? got home after end of weekend and cost me like $15 to fix it. ~Josh~
  5. i had a similar problem on my 86' GL, but it was just one of the coolant return lines in front of the carb. that had ruptured, fixed the leak with vinyl elec. tape, how ghetto-fab is that, lol. P.S. usually your compression test will tell you were your HG leak is, but since you have at least 130 psi in all cylinders, you're sure that it is leaking at the heads? ~Josh~
  6. Being closed-deck makes the EJ22T an extremely strong engine, however, none shall forget the EJ20T, those motors have been around for a while also, many with over 175-200 HP per liter. ~Josh~
  7. If im not mistaken, you have the DOHC 2.5? If so then hmmmm..... If it is SOHC then u can throw in older legacy's motor and call it good. But if it's DOHC you'll have to put in older legacy's ecu also, you might......i mean might, have to change a couple of pin outs if it is an AT ecu into your 5 speed OB, and vice versa. or if some of the sensor pin out locations changed from model year differences. Someone back me up or call me F.O.S. ~Josh~
  8. yes, AT love to upshift WAY before we would like them too, gear shifting is mainly decided by throttle position, and other factors like RPM's and such, but ive heard that manually shifting an AT is bad, ive also heard the opposite. ~Josh~

    Fuel Cell Q's

Are you talking about the kind of fuel cells that race cars use, you know, the kind with reinforced-heavy-duty neoprene sack inside of a stainless steel housing? If so, then mount; guessing here people, as far forward and as close to your bed as possible, try to center as much weight as possible between your axles (front-back), and try to keep weight of fuel as low as possible to not help you on your way to a roll-over. Just my part. ~Josh~
  10. That sounds like a lot more work than I'll have to do for my EJ22 conv. for my 86' GL wagon, give a shout out to mudrat79, he's in this forum, he makes an adapter kit that adapts engine to tranny, so you can keep your stock tranny and starter, no trimming of drive line, no axle swaps, still a good amount of wiring, and you will still have to swap your P/S if you want it, i'm going without P/S. Holla at him and he'll tell ya all about it. ~Josh~
