  1. That's only because I've had no reason to pull them 181k and no HG issue on a ej225D (the gods blessed me). I was confused between the actual place and the valve cover gasket. I know I can do it I've been working on engines my entire life, maytag one cylinders to huge cast iron tractor engines to my miata (full rebuild).
  2. I think for now I'd just be doing N/A, as I don't really know where to get the tuning done, and it's my only dd so I don't think I'd have the time to do FI, but I'd prefer it. But in realistic terms, it'd be NA and going into my 99 legacy gt. Changing from dohc to sohc and the belts for that is confusing to me. New to engine internals with subarus. To be honest I don't how at what part of the head the head gasket is
  3. How do I tighten the ebrake on my car? I have the thing in the car all the way tight, but there is almost 0 actual braking. I have rear disks by the way, dunno if that's standard or not
  4. Wait, I was wrong, legacy GT is at 181 thousand miles (with no head gasket issues yet) Brat is 186k and runnin good. I got a couple toddlers
  5. Nowhere near street legal, nor comfortable. Stripped interior, huge exhaust leak (hopefully will be fixed tonight), no bumpers (trying to fab some up.....) No signals work, and idk if I'd really trust her on a michigan highway where everyone is doing 85
  6. Do you guys think making a tow bumper for my brat to be able to be towed behind my legacy would be doable? Just got a new cottage and want to be able to take the brat without having to take our giant trailer (Like 30 feet and 9 feet wide) and borrowing our 9 mpg truck (I'd think an 09 f150 would do better..) I'd be taking out a rear halfshaft so my welded diff would work, but do you think this would be a good idea?
  7. 87 brat - 186k 99 leggy gt - 136k
  8. Metal rescue rust remover bath. I swear by this stuff, freed up a 100 year old rusted tractor gear box in a few days. Non toxic as well
  9. Here's a slightly more legal, text version of a subaru mechanic to keep in your trunk http://www.suberdave.com/USMB/HTKYSA.PDF
  10. What would your $$ amount be? I have access to be able to ship stuff for barely anything, and I don't wanna rip you off
  11. Rust from the gas tank, or any debris that finds it's ways into your fuel lines. Maybe even a piece of a fuel filter (it's happened to me!)
  12. I figure if you can fit 205/75r15 tires on a lifted leggy you should be able to do 235/70r16, right? only a inch and a half inch larger width, so .75 inches on each side. Just wondering what you guys think
  13. Ann Arbor and have parts out the wazoo as well
  14. Anyone used a jeep (cj7) tcase to do the tcase mod? After monster brat fell through due to the rust, I'm hoping to salvage some of it. Everything that isn't frame or engine is bueno and I have 8" c channel from its bumpers (no rust) to use for the lift. Any disadvantage to doing it with the jeep tcase?
  15. Any idea how much it's gonna screw with the maf and cause lost power?
  16. So just take off the resonator and biuld off of the filter box?
  17. Title says it all. If anyone has done it can you post pics? Cause I know the resonator is important with the phase 1 engines. I really wanna snorkel my LGT but this d*** maf sensor is being a pain
  18. Does anyone know the size nut that holds on the throttle camble butterflies? Pic related
