  1. Dang, just got done replacing drive side wheel bearings, and went for a test run and broke the pass side axle. Is it ok to drive with the broke axle still in the car? If not, what do I need to do to drive the car until I can get an axle? Oh yeah, the car is a 4wd Loyale
  2. I got a loud clicking coming from the pass. rear tire. Is it the axles maybe, or the bearing? The car is a 91 loyale
  3. 91 Loyale 4wdI got gets about 32 on the highway, and aroud 28 in town
  4. Chech the tranny and make sure it has enough oil. I had a Toyota 4x4 that had a leaky tranny and would whine and make all kinds of noise when the oil was down.
  5. I never ran with the ac on because of the drag on the moter. Now my compressor just sits there taking up space(I remover the belt) Hopefully a second alt will be taking its place.
  6. Yes, make sure it isn't just the light not coming on. The light in my loyale only comes on when it feels like it, so I have to listen for a slight clunk when I engage 4wd.
  7. Black is good. Or white. And who wants those crome rings? They just get knocked off from rocks and stuff.
  8. I always figured that they put "high mileage" on the container so they could charge more for it.
  9. Where is this place at? I'm in central NC, Virginia is where we get our lottery tickets.
  10. I was going to paint mine like the General Lee , but after I sobered up, I changed my mind. It still would be cool though.
  11. I like having to hold the handle up when locking the doors. Why in yhe world is that park light switch there anyway?
  12. Don't know why I left in the first place. Hopefully, though if things work out, I might be back out there by summer. I miss the mountains!! The appalacians ain't mountains, just hills.
  13. Man, seeing all those Subes makes me want to come home!! you hardly ever see older subies around here. Red rocks was just about my back yard!!! Those pics make me home sick. Why oh why did I leave Colorado to come here?
  14. I have ran a few Michelins(bought used) and they were an alright tire. They do tend to get chewed up off pavement though. The price that they want for them new, I'll stick with the used ones. As far as the BFG all seasons, my sister ran them on her sunfire, and they were a really good tire, it seemed like she put 40 or 50,000 on them.
  15. I have a simalar problem, and was going to post a ??? My rear tires seam to wear more on the outer edge. A lot more. I don't know, I'm going to put some others on, and see what might happen. These were on the front, and I had a alignment problem.
  16. Wow, you must have a real light foot! I avarage around 28-30mpg out of my 91 4wd Loyale.
  17. Had a 86 Brat for my first car. I beat the crap out of that car. Great in the snow, amd in the woods. I have a 91 loyale now, and when I lived in Co, where it actually snows, it handled better than my 4x4 toyota in the snow. Good on gas, lots of room in the wagon, and the 4wd is good the mud down here in NC.
  18. I just like them. Good for running my radio stuff. Less computers for RF to screw up. Where did the sigs go? I just noticed they are gone.
  19. It won't hurt anything to do that. It will show you if its charging or not. Using a multineter is a better way, as it shows how much the alt is putting out.
  20. Mid 80's sr5 4runners had them, and so did Montero's. I remember a while back seeing some for sale at Auto Zone or Advanced. I'm sure JC Whittny has them.
  21. With a constant load on it, if you are alway pulling at what the alt can put out, it will get hot, and go south eventually. hOW LONG THOUGH, YOU NEVER KNOW. i HAVE ALTS LAST FOR 2 YEARS, AND i HAVE TRASHED THEM IN A MATER OF HOURS
  22. Alts are easy to swap. I was going through them at about 1 every couple of mounthe running cb radio stuff. If you were it out, just get one with a lifetime warenty. I have a linear amp that draws quite a bit of power (when i key my radio to talk at idle rpms drop down), but the stack alt works ok.
  23. I have never woyyied about having the wheels striaght
  24. You know, I havn't checked the axle nut. Now that you mention it, I am going to do that tomarrow, when the sun is out.
