  1. You could always go with a Lecce Nevile alt. They have a couple of alts that do over 325 amps. I have been contemplating duel alts under the hood of my subaru to run a CB that does alot of watts, but If It does happen, it will be down the road. People have benn running duel alts for a while now, I'll dig up some sites ti visit about the installs.
  2. Thats great. Sounds like you found a good 4x4 shop, and yeah, somthing about lifted subeis just, or even muddy old subies that gets peoples attention.
  3. When I first bought an old toyota, it had a Detriot in the front. It was great in the rocks, and the mud, as long as I didn't have to turn. Tight trails suckes as well, and using 4wd in the ice and snow, well when it was snowy and cy i would unlock one hub and go in 3 wheel drive. I took the detroit out of the fri=ont and ran a lsd and was much happier like that and it wasn't as scary in the ice. Still, with the locked rear, it still wanted to swap ends in the ice if you weren'rt real careful.
  4. Why aren'tyou going to keep the seats, interior, tranny? Even if you don't you the stuff, there is always someone who could. And about moving the shell, could you maybe make "skates" for it? Somthing you can put under each corner of the car just to get it on a trailer of flatbed?
  5. Ok, that makes nore sence. I have seen your bumpers in your pics. They look pretty stout
  6. Now I want to see a subie on Pritchet Canyon!! That would be damn impressive! You would have to have a winch, and lots of skidplats, but, somday....
  7. [quote name= I doubt my town home association would appriciate me tearing up the assphault drive way they poured last summer. My neighbors already complained I walked on it the day after it was laid; something tells me they would call the association and whine about it. Then I'd prolly have to pay for a whole new driveway in this wonderful world of civil suits. I'm pretty sick of associations and neighbors that need to mind their own buisness. I swear if they say one more thing about my cat going outside I'm just going to bring the cat' date=' litter box and food over and say "Here, you're so worried about it's well being why dont you take it" [/quote] I hate homeowner assosiations. I want to be the one to deceide what I can and can't do on my own property and to my house.
  8. You have to run bumpers out there? Man, I always though you just had to have good tow hooks sucrly mounted
  9. Welded the front for the street? Man, I hope he don't have to turn!! I had an old toyota truck that was locked front and rear, and that thing was a b--ch to turn in the dirt! Needless to say, I didn't keep it loked in the front very long after I got it.
  10. Let me know. I would like to try and make it out there if I have the day off.
  11. You will have to weld the diff, cause noone makes a spool or locker for the subarus
  12. Yeah thats what I thuoght, I mattered if it was front to rear or not when beeding brakes.
  13. I would still rip off the bumper cover even if I were lifted I riped my tail pipe off on one off my first off pavement runs in my loyale, but it was rusted out any wat. a side exit wouldn't be a bad idea
  14. I never knew that there was a difference in how the brake were bled if the car is rwd or fwd. Wait a minute, doesn't this depend on if how the braking system is put to gether, not if the car is fwd or not?
  15. #4 If that F 250 is 4x4 and runs good, you can give it to me I know I know, its not a subaru, but there are times when a full size 4x4 pickup would be good to have around the property.
  16. #1 tHE BRAKE LIGHT COMING ON IS TELLING YOU THAT YOU NEED TO ADD BRAKE FKUID TO THE MASTERCYLINDER. There, now that the caps lock is off its not like I am yelling. Top off the master, and bleed the brakes, starting with the brake furthest away from the master, which would be the pass rear, then driver rear, pass. front, driver front. Keep and eye on the fluid level in the master. if it seems to be disappering then you might have a leak. Oh yeah, it might not be a bad idea to check out you brake pads and see how they look also. Dang, I can be long winded somtimes.
  17. Thats great that there wasn't a passenger and she was able to walk away. That looks like it was a good looking little Brat, but you can always find anouther brat. That is one reson that I always where my seat belt
  18. I really hopr there wasn't anyone in the passennger aeat and eveyone was ok.
  19. That sucks, and I hope no one was hurt. I sure hope there was no one in the poss seat and everyone walked away. It looks like a hell of a hit.
  20. I gotta say, you are right about crappy handling when mixing tires. I ran 4 tires that were all miss matched for about a month, and the handling sucked!
  21. You shouldn't lock it into 4wd at all on dry pavment. As long as the tires are the same size, it is ok to have different brands, tread type on the car. I did this for a while, had two missmatched snow tires on the rear, and two miss matched street tires on the front, and used 4wd with no problems. the tirs just have to be the same size.
  22. you could weld the front diff, but i would not drive it on the road, and een off road. you won't be able to tufn very easily at all. and when you were turning the front would have alot of stress and most likeky break parts
  23. Ok, I will try to make it. You expecting a big turn out?
  24. Hook up a tow strap and drag the sucker out of the garage with you lifter suby
  25. Might be able to make meet tomarrow night, and almost for sure on the 12th Not very familiar with charlotte, so I would need directions. Would be coming from Asheboro. PM me or post a message with more details. Thanks
