  1. Don't lock the front end!! Leave it open. Haveing a locked up front end sucks. You will hardly be able to steer and the front end won't be able to handle the stress. Had a 85 Toy with lockers front and rear. The front locker didn't stay in very long after I purchased the truck.
  2. Best thing you could do if your going to be playing in water. Carpet gets real funky after it gets wet.
  3. Cool, I'll take a look at it in the next couple of days
  4. Thanks, but it was recomended that I change it, so I did.
  5. Use a bubble balancer. I used one a couple of weeks ago when I replaced 2 tires, and it balanced out pretty good. Only really starts to shake above 70 mph., but its really rare that I drive above 55-60. Try a bubble balancer or have the centers cut out.
  6. Is there a way to adjust the clutch? Its the car in my sig.
  7. I need to find some new front fenders. The rust has really gotten out of hand on the front fenders of my Loyale. Anyone know of any remanufactures that might have replacement panals, or of any good junkyards around central N.C.?
  8. I used a wire wheel on a drill to remove all the old paint and surface rust off of the wheels. Then a good coat of primer, two or three coats of white gloss paint, followed by a coat or two of clearcoat. This should hold up for a while.
  9. The stuff you spray in your pns before you cook, so the food don't stick to the pan. It also keeps the mud from getting caked inside the wheelweels also.
  10. Spray PAM on the inside of your wheel wells, and on the backside of your rims. It will keep the snow from sticking real bad. I used to do this all the time when I lived in Colorado.
  11. Ok, I got one tire that is whereing like crazy on the outer edge, for only about half the diameter. Had the tire ond rim on the front of the car, and I swaped it to the rear becaouse I thought the front alignment might be off. Nope. Tire is still whereing like crazy. I am thinging the rim is bent, but I get no shake or shimmy or anything out of it. What do y'all think? Bent rim, or just a bad tire?
  12. I get 25 to 35 depending on where and how I am driving.

    CB Radio?

Yep, get that SWR down to a 1:1 or as close as you can. Anything over a 3:1 will burn up a radio in a hurry.

    CB Radio?

Kind of a funky place to mount up that antenna. Most of your signal is going to go off the driver side of the car. Top center on the highest point is the best location for an ant. Looks good though. My radio is to big to mount like you all have them mounted. I'll post a pic of my setup as soon as I can find one.

    CB Radio?

The most important thing to your radio setup is your anntenna. You can have a radio with all the bells and whisles and still not get heard if you got a junk antenna. K40's are ok, I have run a few, but wasn't real impressed with the performance. I run a cobra 29, and a wilson 1000 mag mount. I have yet to knock the wilson off the roof, and the are easy to tune. Get a swr meter, and get the swr's down as low as possible. Make sure that you coax is run in a way that it won't be kinked or pinched.
  16. Sounds like the alt. I been having problems with mine also, but none of my lights will light up real bright, and voltage has been running normal, tahn dropping down to 9-10 volts. Going to toss in anouther alt and see if that helps.
  17. its just oil burnin off the hot exhaust. I would't worry about it too much, unless it don't smell like burning oil.
  18. Heres whats going on. When driving down the road, the volts will drop down to about 10 volts, then go back to normal. I have checked the alt and it checks out fine. Had three different places check it out, and they all say its fine. All my connections tht I can see seem fine. Bad ground? After the problem started, I get alot of engine noise through the sterio and my cb. Also, my amp for my cb isn't working correctly all the time, whick also started at the same time that this charging problem started. I have checked the belt, and its tight, and all the connections to the alt are claen and making good contact. Anyone got any I deas?
  19. Yeah, both drums have got a lip. Not much of one, but I can feel it.
  20. Got the drum off finally. The wheel cylinder blowed out rhe other night, which kicked the front shoe sideways, which jammed everything up, and made one big mess of parts rattling around inside the drum.. Not good. The drum might be salvagable, but everything else is getting replaced. I am almost positive that these are the original shoes, so its time to replace things anyway. The drum on the other side practically fell off compared to the other one. So now I get to spand the morning trying to track down parts. I miss living in Denver, it was easy to get Suby parts. Around here, people have no clue what a Loyale is most the time. Well, after this I should't have anymore brake problems I hope. Just did the fron end a couple of weeks ago. Just need to figure out whats going on with the alt now......
  21. Dang!!!! This thing won't budge!!!!! Any ideas??? I need to get this thing together by mon, night!!! I am about to get a torch and cut the drum off!!!
  22. Goung to get a puller. from what I have read on here it seems like what I need to do. Let you know how it works. Thanks.
  23. What do you mean pull on the lug nut as hard as I can?
  24. Found the adjuster and I am pretty sure it backed off. I have been hammering the hell out of the drum now for a while. I think I am going to get a puller and hope that I don't mess the drum up.
