  1. Not to cut anyone out, but I'd like to make this an old school meet. Meaning EA's only (EA81 & EA82's). What does everybody drive? Me: 1987 RX Coupe, EA82T. -Brian
  2. Looking at about 18months for a transfer with work. Still looking at places, but Medford, Vancouver, Olympia & Reno top my list. -Brian
  3. Im at work right now so no meet today. Zap, if you'll be in S.F. in a couple months, your more than welcome to join the meet. -Brian
  4. Gauging interest for a meet: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40496 Thanks Zoombaru. -Brian
  5. There are a couple failed subie clubs nearby. Sacsubies.com is one of them. Ive tried to start one called SierraSubies for some off-roading sube's in the area. Just 3 members so far (including me). Seems like trying to form a club is a waste of time, but im always down for a meet. I'll be super busy with moving and whatnot... wont have alot of time until mid-september, maybe longer. I know of a few good places to meet up. Either in Sac or the bay area. Fairfield is a good place to meet, its in the center of us all. -Brian
  6. Luigi, I've put up many a thread in the meet and greet section about a NorCal sube meet, and never get any responce. Seems from this thread alone, there are quite a few of us old-school subie owners nearby. I know of a few places. We can start planning, but I wont have much free time until maybe mid-september or maybe later. I'd like to keep it EA81 and EA82 if possible. Its not hard to find 500 impreza owners, but to find a bunch of USMB gearheads is kinda hard. I'll put up a seperate thread later when I locate a venue. -Brian
  7. I didnt think EA81's had a x-member for the tranny. I Guess i was wrong. Been so long since Ive been under one. -Brian
  8. Engine degreaser will work as good as raid, so get like 15 cans of degreaser Also, some of those Do-It-Yourself Car washes have a degreaser setting. My local car wash does and its not too bad. I guess it'd be hard to push the car to a carwash tho And yeah, a meet would be nice since I cant find any cool EA82 owners up here in Sac (yet). -Brian
  9. The EA81 has no transmission crossmember tho, do i need to add the one from the RX? -Brian
  10. I didnt know there were so many of us around here. Maybe after the car is running we should all get together for a EA82 meet. I have tools, but no experience timing belts. Plus im at least 2 hours north of you. -Brian
  11. There are carburated EA82's. They use a 2bbl hitachi, almost the same as the 2bbl hitachi's found on EA81's, withonly slight differences. There was never a carburated turbo Subaru. The real trouble is finding a turbo you can use, were you planning to have it suck through or blow through the carb? -Brian
  12. Cant you get 20mm from XT6's? -Brian
  13. Thats a good looking car, i just left a reply at Nasioc. Stick around the USMB if you want to learn about the GLF. Its a fairly rare car, expecially in that condition. -Brian
  14. Ah, im in Sacramento... i'll try looking around here 1st. If I can make it in time for this sale, i can get a killer deal. -Brian
  15. I calculated something like 11% off with my 26.1" tires. Never got me out of the ticket tho -Brian
  16. I just moved my subaru. No room to store another. -Brian
  17. The tranny I think i will use will be a RX tranny. The CV's are taken care of, and from what Ive gathered the tranny bolts to the EA81. But I cant remember if the RX has a tranny crossmember or not. The car has no O2 sensor, so I dont think it has an ECU. It might as its a '84. I didnt know the Radius Rod mounts were different. Anyone have a picture of the 2? I will have the 2 piece driveshaft as well, and will have to find a way to mount it. And the car will have a 3" lift so I think I can get around the hammering, but cutting im fine with -Brian
  18. Welcome to the board, thats a nice car. Is it in good condition? -Brian
  19. Where are you located? Not sure if shipping would make it worth it. -Brian
  20. I just have to find a day and look in the yards here. I found the rims I like that are listed for a 1987 to 1994 Mitsubishi Pickup. 14x6, five spoke steels. Maybe Sunday i can find some time after work. -Brian
  21. So did it solve your stumble problems? -Brian
  22. I think they called them Brat's as well. -Brian
  23. You can find 4.11 gears in most Impreza 2.5RS's from what I understand. A couple friends are running them in their Turbo Legacy's. I have a RX tranny I could bring up there Adam, maybe I can find some 4.11 parts from some locals here. But I say keep the RX's locking diff, but make it a mechanical activation instead of a switch. -Brian
  24. i think the demand for RX trannys with EA81 splines would be higher. If you could couple the 2 you'd have pretty much a bolt in upgrade for any EA81 (minus the driveshaft). -Brian
