  2. Matt, it was great chatting with some guys from Alaska at the show. Made me miss the state even more (if that was even possible). Im glad to hear the XT6 made it home, i hope Kelly has the same good luck. -Brian
  3. Yeah, driving lights and 14" pugs. I talked to the owner for a second, but didnt exchange nicknames Didnt even know it was XSNRG. All Talk, its okay if the RX is a beater... make it look good for next years show. Maybe we will have a chance to race eachother. -Brian
  4. 1500 miles for me, round trip. The RX hit 165k and then 166k -Brian
  5. I know how much you wanted to see pictures... found these while surfing http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/data/500/8346Climb.jpg http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/data/500/8346Climb2.jpg -Brian
  6. Oh Shady... who was the dude driving the wagon when it went? He was pretty cool, I got to hang out with him after you hit for the hotel saturday night. I wasnt there to see the jump, but i saw video Here's a pic of the carnage: I saw the strut, and it was pretty mangled... looks like the spring was compressed and then the strut had bent preventing it from expanding. And All Talk, I didn't realize that was you I was chatting with that whole time durring the show. It was nice exhanging idea's, i think Im going to incorporate some of what you said into my scoop design. Next year, you should bring your RX. Other than mine, I only saw 1. He wasnt there long and didnt show his car though. -Brian
  7. Since I didnt get a front shot of your sweet OBW, i went and found one -Brian
  8. I was driving Jib's brat on that run. The outback made good scenery out burried in the woods. I was amazed to see your wagon come out unscathed. It was also good chatting with you at the show. Next year I'll have a rig of my own to wheel withya. Here are the shots I got: Here is Jib's brat out there: -Brian
  9. here is the album I am setting up for the WCSS pictures: http://usmb.net/gallery/wcss7 Austin, please create a new album for your pictures, there, make sure all your images and video are in that album. I will be happy to create accounts for people who would like their images hosted here (much better than the USMBs gallery, and unlimited space). Please dont take advantage of it.... and contact me via PM. My images are there... I think Brad and Jay will be adding theirs soon. -Brian
  10. Send me my CD's 1st so I can get the goodies up online! Now if I could only find a way to install Photoshop I can get MY PICTURES ONLINE!!! GRRRRR -Brian
  11. Just got home after a 2 day drive back to Sacramento. I think this years show was as good as last years... i will trade a mud-pit for shaded camp sites and be happy with it That was me who dropped off the struts for you. Your welcome, you owe me one -Brian
  12. Alaska has more Subarus per person than any other state in the US. Considering the human population to Subaru population, I would think It would be the Subaru Capitol of the world. Anyone who has ever lived in Alaska will back me up on that. -Brian
  13. FINALLY!! got new tires mounted to Jibs brat so his swampers aren't humming the whole way. its 12:14pm, 30min behind schedule but we're on our way! See everyone in POrtland Friday. -Brian
  14. I dont agree with the last part of those plans. I say we veto it and change them Will there be a RallyX like last year? -Brian
  15. 15" rims No modifications needed Bolts right on: Same for 14": You can find 4x140mm rims from some older Peugeot's. They're available in 14" and 15"... steel & alloy. -Brian
  16. ARGH!! Hurry JB, we gotta hit the road -Brian
  17. Yeah, PK should have added this to his instructions by now. i ran into the same problem, easy fix... beat the snot out of the spot its hanging up on: -Brian
  18. Yeah, its supposed to hit 106 tomorrow and we'll be hitting the road about 12noon, right when its nice and sunny out And the RX has no A/C -Brian
  19. Both your '80 and '83 will have an EA81 in it. They are OHV and have no timing belts or chains. To lift it, look into a PK Davis lift or one from AA. If you want to run larger tires you can get Peugeot rims that have the 4x140mm lug pattern in 14 or 15" size. Your stock subie rims are all 13". You can also drill out your hubs and make them 6x140 with ease and use any common toyota or 6 lug rim. The '87 Sedan you are getting will have a EA82 in it. 1.8liter with OHC and timing belts. If its turbo, check it for compression. Chances are a free '87 Turbo will need much more than a fuel pump. Welcome to the board, there's alot to be learned here. -Brian
  20. TurboSPFI, I know of another SubaruDave as well in Anchorage. He sold me my Brat, sold my best friend his coupe as well. He wasnt a bad guy, but the one in Eagle River wasnt so nice when I contacted him for something. -Brian
  21. Thanks for the offer. Im sure there are a couple people who could use some space for vids and stuff. -Brian
  22. That guy and I have had some choice words. We didnt get along too well, but I know he is a pretty reputable Subaru mechanic. If you want to find the BEST subaru mechanics in AK, head to Specialized Import Auto in Anchorage Pix would be nice... any idea where he got the engine? -Brian
