Caleb is right. Make sure they tow it on a flatbed. No dolly's!! they will destroy your center diff. Cant wait to see it, is it white? -Brian -

sure i guess. The RX really doesnt need that much wheel. Its a pretty light car, and nimble. -Brian -

195/50R15's are a close match. I ran those on my RX with no lift and no problems. Looked good and speedo matched. -Brian -
Cant touch those numbers yet Myx... im still working on my suspension and what not. I Did get new rims and right now im putting my IC all back together and installing the intake again. -Brian

So im having some very wierd boost problems. Couple weeks ago my car was hitting 14psi, and i was able to ride at 9-10psi on the freeway constantly. Now my RX wont climb above 6 psi and it seems to hit 4-5psi then creep alittle to 6... maybe 7psi if im on the freeway. I believe some of the hoses leading to the wastegate are leaking. I have new, replacement hose and want to replace everything when I install my MBC, but I still dont understand what everything is in there. I see a solenoid as well, and hear I can disable it. Just alittle worried before my engine grenades. -Brian

What would you like to know? it has a turbocharged 1.8 EA82. it has full time 4wheel drive (awd pretty much) with high and low range. It will also have a center diff lock. The rear diff is a LSD. If its at auction, i'd go get it -Brian -
I grew up in Alaska, and that is when I owned the Automatic EA82. The day after I bought it we got our 1st snow fall. Thats when I found out the 4WD (pushbutton) did not work. The car had enough power to pull its weight through the snow. But trying to gun it off the line was pointless. The car was gutless in comparison to the 4spd and 5spd's ive owned. Needless to say, my EA82 Auto was a piece of crap. Bought it for $500, sold it for $1k and bought a Brat with the money. Since your car will only have 25k on the ticker I wouldnt worry much about it. You can change the fluids to help the tranny survive longer if your really that worried about it. -Brian

Its a loyale wet, so 99% chance its a 3spd auto. 4EAT's came in GL10 Turbos. -Brian

Not sure about their failure. out of the 13 Subaru's ive owned, only one was an automatic (EA82, 3spd auto). I owned the car for 3 weeks before I sold it. I couldnt stand the auto.... it was just too sluggish. I dont ever plan on buying another Automatic subaru. Unless its a EA81 Turbo (as those ONLY came autos & SVX's). -Brian

You wont have any torque bind unless you drive in 4WD on pavement while trying to make a U turn. The Automatic tranny's SUCK!! Dont expect to have any fun driving, and watch as the geo's, and hybrid's beat you off the line. -Brian

Good luck adapting the steering extension & the strut tops. Do those even come in an "ebay kit" and where are these kits? ive never seen one. Its better to just pay for a designed kit that will bolt in, unless you'd like to spend months wreckin your brain trying to figure out how to get your camber back to stock spec's. -Brian

Difference in EA81 heads

There are hydrolic lifters and solid lifters. I believe the hydrolic lifters have larger valves. If you change the head, you'll need to change your pushrods as well. Not sure how to tell the diffefence between the 2. I think in 83, 4speed 4WD had solid lifters. -brian -
Cool!! Those look really nice and will sound even better. You'll like the speakers in the dash rather than in the door. In the dash the speakers will project the sound toward your ears, instead of toward your knees. And yeah, the drivers side is easier than the passenger side. I almost busted my glove box out of anger when trying to remove my passneger side speaker once. -Brian

If you plan on buying an Automatic EA82, your in for a world of hurt. The Auto Trannies on the EA82 line are HORRIBLE and rob probably 60% of the engines power before the HP reaches the wheels. Sucks about your knees, but i'd still look for a 5spd... unless you want to have no fun driving. -Brian

if its a 5spd then dump the clutch in 2WD. Feel the tires break loose and peel out? Now try it in 4WD. If it does the same thing, the 4WD dont work. -Brian

Rule of thumb: Make sure each tire has at least 10% slip available. Meaning, only use 4WD on gravel, dirt, mud, snow or ice. Anywhere your tires have a chance to slip. NO PAVEMENT!!!! -Brian

Probably the only thing that will bolt on are the rear brakes. Almost everything else is different. Engine, Tranny, Suspension... all different. The wheels and tires will work however. -Brian -
