  1. Yup. Doesnt hurt to add alittle to the gas tank either. -Brian p.s. Watch out for all the smoke.
  2. Looks pretty simple i guess. I hope the VF11 works out that smoothly. -Brian
  3. I know brad is thinking about using one, and I heard there is a board member with one already on his EA82T. I found a deal on one and I like the idea of it being smaller than the TD04. I heard the VF11 is a near bolton to the stock EA82T up-pipe. Thats pretty much all im conserned with right now. Also, i was thinking of rebuilding the turbo I got. Would anyone know where to find a rebuild kit for the VF11? -Brian
  4. Are all you guys running stock up-pipes with your TD04's? Im thinking of going with VF11 cause I read that they are a near fit for the flange on the stock EA82T Up Pipe. -Brian
  5. Its been a long time. The old page listed my turbo legacy, which I sold over 6 months ago. So now i have the page showcasing the RX. I will try to update it when I complete tasks on the RX, and of course there will always been new pictures in my gallery. The webpage address, for those who may have forgotten: http://www.subaru4wd.net -Brian
  6. Those are some fairly common wheels. I believe they are made by Cal Master or Mastier. I know of a USMB member who has 8 of them, all chrome. You can find them in black as well. -Brian
  7. Here is another slanted radio console I had. I put this one in my old '83 Wagon. One problem i always had with my slanted consoles were the angle they keep the CD Player. With the stereo in that picture, i could hardly ever read the text on the screen. If your stereo has a contrast control then you should be able to adjust that. With the stereo in my Brat, it stopped working after a while. Just the CD mechanism and I think it was because of the angle I had it mounted. Or maybe the fact it was a cheap stereo Either way, its the only real practical way to mount a DIN size deck in any EA81. -Brian
  8. I think the VF11 will work alittle better than the TD04. I cant wait to get mine swapped over, just need to find an exhaust shop... oh, and about $400. -Brian
  9. I told the tech what i was planning to do with the car, but told him the only thing stopping me was the stupid smog. He asked "what will you do in 2 years when it has to be smogged again?" and i told him i would most likely be living somewhere its not required. He agree'd. He's a jeeper and has a rig, same with the guy I know from work. They run into the same problems on their Jeeps and Toyotas because they run F.I V8's on chassi's that came with Carbed inline 6's and whatnot... they have the same restrictions I have. But they trailer their toys whereas mine has to get me to and from work. I came home from work to a UPS tag. Looks like Magnecore decided to get my plug wires here finally Let the fun begin! -Brian
  10. Yeha, i got mine too. $50. Are you bolting yours to a EA82T? If so, let me know how it goes. -Brian
  11. Not many here can afford dyno time. So "Seat of the pants" is all we have. MPG is easier, not sure who has documented their experiences. -Brian
  12. wont loose the use, just beatup your knuckles alittle. Here's mine in my Brat: -Brian
  13. Even when I had my Turbo Legacy, i didnt goto NewGen. Im glad i have my RX now and can stay on this side -Brian
  14. Its a nice car Tim and i hope it treats you well. Didnt you join the newgen side when you got Vicky her Impreza? Or wait, was that your Impreza? -Brian
  15. I cant find a clutch kit for the RX from Exedy anywhere on the net... except for that ebay ad. Cant tell you if its a deal, and i hope it fits -Brian
  16. Put the RX on the sniffer and crossed my fingers. I went to a buddy of a buddy of mine. A friend from work owns a 1984 Chevy 3500 Dually with a propane conversion, and didnt want any flack so we were talking about he has a friend who can "smog" it for him. Of course, i asked and got him to introduce me and we did the RX today. I didnt have the intercooler connected, but I did have my timing way out of spec and my intake was modified. We did a prelim test and the mechanic saw the numbers. He wasnt too sure about it, but said "lets let it warm up alittle more and see what happens." So we let it warm up, reved it a few times and ran the test. It passed, no foul play or nothing. I was as shocked as everyone reading this. I get tags for 1 year, but I wont need to get it smogged again until 2007. But now I can go get my exhaust and turbo done. Guess I should do the important stuff like CV's and bearings first huh? -Brian
  17. THE RX PASSED SMOG!! Now its ON! Time for a VF11, New exhaust, and some other go-fast goodies. -Brian
  18. Its a good brand, not sure if its a good deal... but sounds like it to me. My RX could use a clutch... hrm, ebay you say? -Brian
  19. No neons allowed Will... The RX's turbo is dumping alot of oil Time for a new one. After that, I will get my exhaust and that should compliment everything nicely. The car did well. It climbed uphill with ease (thank you Dual Range AWD) and it cornered like it was on rails. I didnt know what to expect cause i have different tires on (185/70R13 as opposed to the old 195/50R15's). I will do alittle suspension work. Swap my front springs with RX springs, rear with XT springs and maybe even add a 20mm front swaybar. Then I can run my 15" rims again, and I will have them on the next trip for sure. All in all, i had a blast! Cant wait until next time. Need some more oldschool representation however... I hate being the only one. -Brian
  20. Not loyales... Automatic tranny's are that way. Nothing wrong with the car, it was probably that slow when it drove off the lot in 1990. -Brian
  21. Took a few subie buddies of mine on a road trip today. I was the only old school subie, there were 2 turbo legacy's and 3 Impreza's (one 2.2, two 2.5's) Was fun, but the RX is limited... and it proved that to me today. Still alot of room for improvement, but it held its own. Here's a map of our travels: http://gallery.usmb.net/albums/album31/sundayJuly26.jpg And here is the gallery full of images: http://gallery.usmb.net/album35 Now im exhausted from driving all day -Brian
  22. Cool... yeah, everything comes from the strut tower. I think i'll disconnect that solenoid and use those hoses to hook up my MBC. -Brian
  23. Look for a huge caravan comming from the portland area. Friday Morning -Brian
  24. Everything is secure now. I just re-installed my intercooler (had to remove it for smog issues). everything is secure, i need to re-route my BPV. I looked around at my wastegate and all the hoses. I heard when i install my Manual Boost Controller, i can bypass the ECU Solenoid on the wastegate. Will my ECU mind if its gone? -Brian
