I pay $70 a month just for my internet. Well, i do get basic cable, but you cant even call it cable. I have all the broadcast networks (fox, nbc etc.) plus about 4 Home Shopping channels, 7 indipendant local channels and 5 channels in languages other than english. But Im also paying extra for a "home network" package which increases my download speed to 4mbit and upload to 512kbit. Our modem is built into a wireless 4 port router, and Im running 3 computers all day and 1 on & off. When I move im going fiber optics. I believe the package is alittle under $90 and includes phone, tv (150+ channels) & 10mbit internet. DSL here is about $40/mo but you need to have a local telephone line (something I do not wish to have) and that is another $30 or so a month. And that is only for 1mbit download and 128kbit upload (yick). Plus DSL quality is dependant on the distance of your home and the integrity of the local phone network. Something Im not willing to deal with. Comcast came out and ran new coax from the box out front when they installed my modem 2 years ago. Only problems I have are when I dont pay my bill -Brian

I have caleb on my contact list and he is probably getting mad at me for IM'ing him every time I post on the OT. DSL sucks. Have you had any static on your home phone recently? If your far from the central office or anything has tampered with your lines... it could cause problems with the connecting of your DSL modem. Replacing it should help you pinpoint the problem. I would suggest running a line directly from your Telephone Box to wherever the modem will be sitting. Make sure the connections in your phone box havent gotten wet or corroded, and that will ensure the modem has the cleanest signal to the outside world. DSL is very picky in the way it communicates and shares your phone line. Cable internet is a different subject, and if you can get it in the area i'd suggest it. I pay more for cable than I would DSL, but Im also on more with 0 interuptions (and its faster). Next upgrade will be to fiber. Phone/TV & 10mbit internet through the same pipe, all digital and will end up being cheaper in the long run. -Brian

Is this too low?
TheSubaruJunkie replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I mounted the rims today and they dont seem to stick out as far as my 15" rims did. Also, im running 185/70 as opposed to the 195/50's i used to run. I will drop the rear end when i find new rear springs. Now that I have these front struts in, i have KYB GR2's on all 4 corners. The rear might stick up high but its real stiff back there and I like that -Brian -
Fender Rubbing: Problem Solved.
TheSubaruJunkie replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Kinda like these. The portion of the rim that mounts to the hub is as thick as all of my studs. these lugs go into the rim, and secure the rim to the hub. They use washers as well, and are 21mm as opposed to 19mm subaru lugs. I was also thinking of painting the rims white to match the car, but im liking the alloy. -Brian -

Found them on a EA81 Sedan at the local junkyard. Dont know who make them, but i can tell you they definatly do not use the stock Subaru lug nuts. -Brian -

JIbs you can have them back. Trade you your brat The lugs are special. ive never seen any like them before. The reason it looks like there is one missing on the front is because one is a locking lug and it doesnt show as well. On the rear, it is missing Im hoping after I put the RX springs in it will lift the front end alittle. I really do like the way these rims make my car look tho -Brian -
Fender Rubbing: Problem Solved.

THats the 1st ive heard that. So far, you and me are the only ones who like it (out of all my friends ive shown so far). I like it better too. I think it gives the car a more "rally" look. I am thinking of getting some Kumho R700 rally tires for them. So far its solved 98% of the rubbing. Turning into a parkinglot still gets me a couple times. -Brian -

Well, i went to the yard and picked up a set of those rims. I have some 185/75R13's to have mounted to them. That should solve the rubbing for now. Miles, my fender is already fuct The RX in the JY was mashed up anyway. Will standard GL fenders still fit? -Brian -
Alittle history... If it werent for BillyC, the USMB would have never existed. Too bad he screwed us. But for people who do not know... he used to own the USMB before he gave it to Shawn. -Brian

Yeah, im down. Anything's gotta be better than sleeping in the RX -Brian -
Actually... to correct you... there are NO turbo Legacy Wagons in '91. The 1st Turbo Legacy Wagon was introduced in 1992 and ran until 1994. In '91 the only thing turbo were Sedans. -Brian p.s. and no... the Ti is not a turbo model. Its just a glorified L. You would have known if it were a turbo, there would be a scoop on the hood. No need to lift it, only turbo's came with scoops.

We plan on meeting at 9AM on Sunday June 26th. We'll be meeting at Sierra College Blvd & I-80 at 9am, departure no later than 9:15am. From there we'll travel to Auburn and hit highway 49, then travel south to highway 193 where we'll head to Georgetown. Once we get to Georgetown we're going to get on Wentworth springs rd. and travel to Icehouse, where we can make it to highway 50. If time permits, we may get off highway 50 in Placerville and travel south to Union Mine Road and continue south to highway 16 where we can then travel back to Sacramento via Sunrise Blvd. Entire trip will be aprox 170 miles and we plan on stopping for lunch long the way. Any subaru is welcome, but the trip is going to be pretty twisty up and downhill on some 2 lane highway through the mountains and woods. Currently we have my RX, a couple Turbo Legacy's and a Modified 2.5RS comming along. Anyone interested in joining up with us, please send me a PM or reply here so we know to wait for you -Brian
