  1. My cap screws on, and my rotor has a screw holding it in place. Cant really get the company discount if I walk in with the parts... but, looks like I may have to do that anyhow. -Brian
  2. Im at work, gonna order parts through napa for the RX. Need to get a Disty cap & rotor, along with a new coil. Which disty did the RX come with? Thought they did away with this in the EA81 years... argh! -Brian
  3. Hrm... the coil does look old and in need of replacement. Maybe i'll order up a new one today, along with a new cap & rotor. The plugs are new as well as the wires. Im running 8mm magnacore wires, i sure hope they arent going bad. -Brian
  4. So i got some header wrap today from Napa... wrapped the section below the flange to help protect my coolant lines etc. Installed the up-pipe. I bolted the mounts back in, and while I was under the car I found out both my engine mounts were loose. The bolts leading through the cross member were about to fall off. So, got everything squared away and installed and took the car for a test drive. WOW THERE'S WHERE MY BOOST HAS BEEN ALL ALONG!! Its been so long since I got max boost in 1st gear, but damn... as soon as I blip the peddle the boost gauge pegs at 6psi, maybe closer to 7psi. Car has some funky miss while under boost. Not exactly sure if its detonation or maybe something is loose, kinda feels like its running on 3cyl when i get on it. Anyone have any ideas?? Oh well, im just glad to have my postive intake pressure back! -Brian
  5. Still wouldnt be automatic if you had a clutch peddle. And I doubt a servo could shift as fast as a human arm with 24" of leverage. Sounds good on paper though. -Brian
  6. Subaru lifts will be all body. Its actually hard to explain, its a hybrid suspension/body lift, but its not like a truck lift that you maybe used to. 4/3" is pretty much bolt on. 6" and higher and you need to start modifying things like shift linkages, drivelines, reinforce different parts of the car. IF your planning on installing a 2nd transfer case, you will need 6 to 8" of lift and a sub frame. Hope you can weld. Also, hurry and get the project complete so I got someone else to wheel with! -Brian
  7. Rob... PM me with your snail mail addy. I have all my video's saved as high-def .AVI files and I will burn them to a DVD for you. Your comp has a DVD-Rom right??? -Brian
  8. Subarus can warp rotors fairly easy given the e-brake config. Try not to use the e-brake, expecially after a long drive. The rotors will tend to cool, and if the ebrake is applied, the pressure being applied to the rotor while they cool can cause warpage. With that said, i havent used any special brand. I got a set of rotors off ebay a while ago, and they worked good. Dunno if they warped easily cause i sold that brat about 2000mi after the brake job. Just whatever Napa carries I guess... dunno what brand, never thought to check. Having your rotors turned will cost about as much as new rotors... at least, thats my experience here in CA. Not alot of shops wanna touch subaru rotors. -Brian
  9. Yeah its from my RX... 1987 but doesnt matter cause all EA82T's have the same up pipes. Your right, my exhaust is sagging. I will make sure to bolt up the downpipe when I re-install the up pipe. I wanna wrap the up pipe before I install it to help save my coolant lines. -Brian
  10. So yesterday I pulled the Up Pipe from my RX and found: I took it into work today and had a co-worker weld the flange back in place. Since this is pretty much the only thing holding my turbo in place, i made a small angle bracket and had that welded in place too. Hopefully this will strengthen the flange and keep this from happening again. Here are some shots of the fixed up pipe Maybe tomorrow I'll have time to re-install it. I cant wait to get it back on and get my boost back!! -Brian
  11. So i had like... 31 clips I cut out of my footage. Pretty much the best of the best of what I had. So I put it all together with some kickazs music and came up with this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6971714662422073608 Sorry you dialup users. The file size is 15mb. -Brian
  12. Yes... glass, doors, hatch... everything should bolt right on. -Brian
  13. So yeah, pulled the bolts from the turbo, then got under the car and undid the header from the heads... was able to jimmy the up pipe and pull it out from under the car... and heard the flange fall to the ground. Removed the pipe and this is what i saw: Guess I'll take it to work with me tomorrow and have it welded back in place. I suppose this could be the cause of my boost problems :-\ Cant wait to get it back on there! -Brian
  14. Cool.. got it out, and yup... found my boost problem. Transfering pix now, i'll have them up shortly. -Brian
  15. Here's me and my Ride: I was runnin around trying to mingle with as many peeps as I could. Probably saw me with either Brad or Noah most the time. Also got a chance to meet Danny and his Girl, they're a cool couple. ALong with all the regulars, cant wait till next year! -Brian
  16. Awesome!! I need that! I handed my camcorder to a buddy to film that, and the batteries died -Brian
  17. Yeah, i didnt get footage of Rob making it through And he didnt do a 2nd attempt the day after. Would have been REALLY cool. If anyone has footage of rob making it, lemme know! -Brian
  18. Okay... had to put the yota video on Google just to get it up ASAP. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1555448043744381942 Enjoy!! -Brian
  19. Cool... another member from Sacramento! The body parts will fit. Most of the engine parts are interchangeable as is the interior pieces. -Brian
