  1. Yes... they changed the logo in like 1991 or something. Check out the banner for the USMB. We incorporated both logo's into 1. -Brian
  2. Nobody i know of has done a 6lug conversion -Brian
  3. I dont think i ever replied to that thread.. but add one more to the Mechanic for me. -Brian
  4. Yeah with rust like that, and a failing motor... offer him no more than $500. He's right when he sais they are rare, but running subarus are more common and not much different (other than the LSD and the trans). -Brian
  5. Hrrmmm.... I dont think so. You maybe the 1st to attempt such a thing. Yes of course people have. Ozified was the very 1st to manufacture lifts in the US. Mass produce I should say. His lifts have been perfected by the australians and he has the rights to produce their product here in the states. its very easy and straight forward. His design is simple and shouldnt take more than a weekend for a novice mechanic with a set of basic tools (sockets & wrench set). He's been busy lately, but last time I talked to him he was back in business and I was able to order and recieve a lift for a friend in a matter of days. My lift, however, has been in use for almost 3 years. I recently transfered it from my 1984 GL wagon to a new 1984 GL Hatch I purchased. -Brian
  6. Ive seen EA81's in the junkyard with dash covers, so i know somebody makes them. -Brian
  7. Give you $30 for them both... $40 actually, $10 for your time. -Brian
  8. YES! I check mine after every wheelin trip. Or at least I try to. I installed my lift using locktite so Im hoping I dont experience anything like you did. Ive seen it before, and usually the outcome is grim. -Brian
  9. You need to remove the brackets from the frame. Its only 4 bolts. -Brian
  10. Set your gun at 0 degrees then, and use the marks on the flywheel to make sure your getting the propper settings. 12 degrees BTDC is where I find the best performance for my EA81. I have my EA82T set at 21 degrees BTDC. -Brian
  11. I wouldnt even give them 15 seconds. You'd already be doing 100+ by then, i give it until 40mph which would be about 6 seconds. If you want the most potential power, maybe the 3.3 liter H6 (EG33) would be a better platform. Supercharge that sucker and get ready for some real power! -Brian
  12. You did things right. Set the light to 8 degrees and then adjust the disty until the light flashes and the mark points to 0 on the flywheel. Your car will be alittle more sluggish, cause those are stock settings. Try 12 degree's for a little kick in performance. -Brian
  13. The latest EJ25 turbo. In stock form puts out 300hp. -Brian
  14. Duh!! See above... note: 93 is not available in Sacramento... Why would i do that, after spending 4 months building my motor using higher compression pistons? -Brian
  15. Im talking about for the future, when im not so broke. I wont ever fill my RX with 87 octane again. Not after driving the past 3 days with it. And if I bought 1 gallon of diesel, that means I would only have to buy 14 gallons of Unleaded. And right now, diesel is cheaper than premium... so I wouldnt be wasting any money at all. The kicker is, nozels that pump diesel wont fit in my gastank, so i couldnt even put a gallon of diesel in my tank even if i wanted to :-p -Brian
  16. It will have to this week, as Im so broke that $4 will buy me dinner tonight. Tomorrow, i dunno what i'll eat. Thats what I was thinking too. You dont see octane ratings on diesel, so I didnt think it would work the same mixed with Unleaded. I think im gonna remove my injectors and send them off to be cleaned. Hoping that might help the performance side of things. Just gotta get more money in the bank, payday is Friday -Brian
  17. That USRM article tells you how to check your codes. Doesnt give you clear instructions on how to clear your codes... not as easy to read as the scanned document i posted. -Brian
  18. So ive been b1tchin to the guys at work about how my car has been pinging. And last week I was so broke, I had to force myself to fill the RX up with 87 octane instead of the usual 91 (saved $0.20 a gallon). So, since then, the car has developed some major hesitation and pings like crazy. Im an entry level mechanic at a new shop. I work with 5 other veteran mechanics who all know their shiz, and one of them suggested I run 1gal of diesel at fillup to increase the octane. I laughed at him, and refused to do so... but he swears by it. He said a friend of his did it to his VW and helped stop all the pinging he experienced. Anyone here have any wisdom to share on this subject? -Brian
  19. Here's a scanned image I have that ive used on my 1987 RX: -Brian
  20. Not sure if anyone here even knows what your talkin about. -Brian
  21. I think the EA82 manifold would flow even more than the dual EA81. Is the proof that the dual EA81 flows more than the stock EA81? -Brian
  22. Got some footage of you J. Just have been real tired (ie. lazy) lately and havent done much video editing. Need some more stuff to edit, but no one has sent me anything yet. -Brian
  23. Those pieces your circled should be for your tranny crossmember. -Brian
