  1. Hey your brat is lookin WAY better than it did when you brought it over and loaded it with parts. Glad to see you got the SJR lift figured out, where did those blocks end up going? -Brian
  2. Actually, if you listen closely you'll hear the clacking of my front CV. And if you look closely, you'll notice how my rear tire wasnt spinning. Thats cause of a couple broken CV joints. Im sure if they werent broke, i would have stood a better chance of making it through. -Brian
  3. Yeah, you stole my picture. You can see the original picture hosted on my webserver, I took this screen shot to display in the Old Gen forum. Original Picture: http://gallery.usmb.net/album31/cap001 Original Thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=54036 -Brian
  4. PSHA!!! :-p If your hatch had a lift, brushguard and roof rack it MIGHT have a fighting chance of looking as good as mine. Brian
  5. If I had unlimited money, i'd pay someone else to fix my subes! Im getting tired of wrenchin these days. -Brian
  6. Hey!?!?!? Did you call my hatch Ugly?? -Brian
  7. Yes, all Full Time 4WD Trannies for EA82's (usually EA82T's) and XT6's have a locking center diff. Only the RX came with Dual Range Full Time 4WD. -Brian
  8. The T-coupe has to be 4WD for those rear disk's to work, but im sure it is 4WD. If your doing the 5speed swap, you'll need the flywheel from your brats motor, a EA82 clutch disk, a EA81 pressure plate, EA81 pilot bearing and EA82 throwout bearing. Ive never heard of using EA82 front suspension on a EA81, but It sounds like more pain than is worth... dont see much benefit, if you want some good suspension just go get new KYB GR2's for your Brat. REar suspension is completly different. -Brian
  9. Brakes: no Suspension: no Transmission and rear diff: Yes. Not much else really. The EA81 will bolt in, but you need to make sure the flywheels are the same. I believe in 1983 they still used the smaller flywheel and if the 83 Wagon is 2WD it will have the smaller flywheel for sure. Just something to pay attention to. -Brian
  10. Im down for a run as well. Jeremy, you better have that lifted Wagon runnin!!! :-p -Brian
  11. The EA81T is not the same as any other EA81. The EA81T is MPFI, whereas EVERY other EA81 is carburated. MPFI motors have injectors in the heads... Carburated motors have... well, no injectors. In order to turbocharge your EA81, you will need heads from a EA81T, a turbocharger, the injectors, the wiring, the ECU. Not to mention, probably upgraded fuel lines to handle the pressure and an upgraded fuel pump. It could be done, they did offer EA81T Brats, just might be easier to do a complete engine swap and you will definatly need a donor vehicle. -Brian
  12. Yes I believe patrick is supplying his lifts with the longer gas struts instead of the old horse shoe block for the rear struts. -Brian
  13. 205/50R15 i believe. And no, at stock height they didnt rub at all. -Brian
  14. Now im even more pissed to know you were there but i didnt see you. You must have just been there for Saturday then huh? -Brian
  15. I dont think all the wiring will be there. The composite headlights we have now only have 1 plug leading to them, and the quad headlights you want will use 2 plugs on each corner. You'd probably need to locate the relays and swap all the wiring for them. -Brian
  16. Its more like the secondary jet not being primed, and when the secondary opens... instead of fuel/air all you get is air. -Brian
  17. Are you having problems braking? My RX has the same brakes as your car, and they are more than enough for the (lack of) power the EA82T has. -Brian
  18. Your an idiot Rick... why would he mention a Brat if he were talking about lift struts? :-p -Brian
  19. There shouldnt be any difference between Wagon, Hatch, Sedan or Brat struts. However, 2WD and 4WD struts do differ. All are interchangeable. -Brian
  20. Nasioc or 25RS might be a better bet. I know there are plenty of Impreza owners in this area, and someone might be able to help you. I live in the area, but dont feel confident doing that kinda work for someone else... and if I was gonna do a 1.8 to 2.2 swap... i'd wanna keep it -Brian
  21. Make me a rear bumper while your at it I'll come up with some drawings and send them to you. -Brian
  22. Richie... my father explains the problem as a light clacking that you can feel in the steering wheel. Sounds to me like a CV, you think maybe otherwise? A bearing would be a raw sound and tranny would be constant. This only happens when he accelerates, not if he lets off the peddle & coasts or while braking. -Brian
  23. Sounds to me like you need to find a Subaru Mechanic. The EGR valve is mounted to the intake manifold... on the backside, its big, you cant miss it. That whining sound is most likely your throwout bearing, and if its to the point where your car starts to stall... then its a real bad throwout bearing. And the bogging issue sounds like a vacuum leak. Im sure, since your a mechanic and all, that you know how to pinpoint vacuum leaks. -Brian
  24. Does the legacy have a lower ball joint like the EA81's?? I usually remove the ball joint in order to give enough slack to pull the tranny side of the CV off the trans... then slide it out of the hub. -Brian
  25. Nothing has changed in 2 years. -Brian
