  4. Hahaha... forgot where i live Ken? Yeah, this car wont see a smog tech again for the rest of its life. I have tags good till next year, hopefully by then it'll be registered somewhere else Thanks for the info, so 140 is good for subies... -Brian
  5. So i was lookin through my JCwhitney catalog... and looky what i found here: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Search?catalogId=10101&storeId=10101&sku=gm141846&searchbtn.x=17&searchbtn.y=9 I may have to order me one of those -Brian
  6. I have no clue what my offset is. All i know is they will look BADASS when everything is said and done. -Brian
  7. Ok... so today i got my new filter and went outside to put it on. Figured i would take the top off the carb and look around. 'OLY FAHOLY It was messy in there! Dirt, Rust, Grime... probably a year or two of buildup and old gas sitting in there. Did a good job of scrubbing the float bowl, removed quite a bit of gunk from in there. I also noticed two small brass screw dealy's down there. I thought those might be my jets, so i removed them and sprayed them clean. Then I took the can of carb cleaner with the straw at the end, pointed it down in those holes and sprayed... WOW what a bunch of crap! Tons of Crap came out of those holes. Both the brass cap things said 140 on them. Not quite sure what they are. Then i worked my way up. Noticed the same brass looking dealy dobs on the top of the carb... removed one at a time and proceded to blow them clean with the can of carb cleaner. One said 180 and one said 160. Are these my jets? Did a good job of blasting those clean, along with whatever was in the center of those jets. Then did a once over on the float and everything else. Reassembled the carb, put my new filter on, and started it up. I tried to tune it the best i can, but as it is its running 200x better than it did before. I may have to take it to a local expert and just pay them to fine tune it. I still have a dead spot if I go WOT from an idle. Seems whenever the 2ndary opens up, it has a slight hesitation then really kicks in. -Brian
  8. Yeah zap... back then i was encoding everything in DIVX. Things have changed since then, so some people today may not be able to view those vids'. Ive moved so i'll pm you with my new addy. -Brian
  9. THere's video of that 2nd dude.... its amazing. -Brian
  10. Sure... did you check google? Did you check my rim thread either? There are a few manufacturers out there that have what your looking for. Summit Racing sells brand new 14" 6 lug rims for under $30 a piece. I got my rims from a Chevy Luv. -Brian
  11. Yes definatly an excellent link. I think i'll just wire all my accessories from the 2nd battery, and use an isolator. -Brian
  12. Im also thinking of doing this, i have three electric air pumps i am going to install, along with 3 sets of lights and the stereo etc... Will the 2nd battery help me while the motor is running as well? Or is it only beneficial when the car is off? And yeah, i wouldnt attempt this mod without doing the GM or at least the XT6 alt mod. -Brian
  13. Really depends on your model year and your location. If this was a CA car or not, high altitude or not. -Brian
  14. Do you have a boost gauge? Caleb is right, a 2psi drop from a saab 900 I/C is alittle too much. I run a saab 900 I/C and i see about 6psi, without it i was at 6psi. If you want that extra 2psi back, PM Me... i have a pretty nice MBC I am willing to sell. -Brian
  15. Dont know if their lift is for the iMpreza. Might be for only Loyale, GL & DL's. mIght want to make sure. -Brian
  16. Awesome, then your car can become pretty capable. There's a guy by the name Soobyclimbs on here who has a very well equiped outback wagon. There are a couple ways to increase your ground clearance, and even a guy whos running swampers on his outback. Take a look around, feel free to use the search or just browse a few pages of this forum. There is alot to be learned. -Brian
  17. Depends on how much plastic cladding you wanna break off. -Brian
  18. 7/8 socket will also work on that bolt. -Brian
  19. IIRC the backing plate is actually welded or a part of the caliper bracket, in order to remove it you'd have to cut it from the rest of the backing plate. I dont see a problem running without it, just make sure you dont damage the structural integrity of that caliper bracket... that part is kinda important. -Brian
  20. I used to zap, but i sold my other video card with video capture capabilities. I had all the original in my camcorder bag, which was stolen when my house got broken into. All i have left are small snippets of the trip. Eric took his sweet time getting through, but must of it was him just having fun with the obstacle. Ken did it with such grace, and I was affraid of breaking my car (having to use the same vehicle to drive me back to Cali a week later). Rob did it with no fear, and peddle to the metal! I think he cleared that obstacle in a matter of seconds. -Brian
  21. Thats awesome! Does your rig have a locked rear end or limited slip rear? Amazing how you plowed through most of that stuff. -Brian
  22. I was putting video up on myspace, and found this old gem laying around. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=862056326&n=2 I have other video of Ken, Eric & Rob going through the same obsticle. I think i even have video of Austin as well. Maybe i'll dig those up. -Brian
  23. Didnt think about that, but yeah... if you lift the rear end of the car it will make it easier to adjust the rear torsion bar. -Brian
  24. Yeah tomorrow im gonna take the top off the carb, and check to see what jets i have. Then clean them thoroughly. I cant afford a rebuild kit just yet, but if a good cleaning doesnt help then i'll spring for the rebuild. -Brian
