Cheapest Catalytic Converter Solution
Ebay sometimes has cheap brand new ones. Then get someone to weld it in.. Expencive for an old roo, but if you want legal you gotta pay.

How many converts here?
I would go to toyota as well (or what ever brand had a truck I liked) if I could have two cars. The reason I pick Subaru and stay Subaru is I can only afford to have one car. And I like going fast onroad. Subaru's are (to my knowledge) the best cross-over vehicle ever made. When I get a full time job, I'll be 4x4in in a truck and on the road in something else (might even still be a Subaru.) It's just it cost so damn much to register and insure a car in Australia My new Subaru forum has an offroad section for any cars and trucks plus a section for talk on yota's and what ever

6 vs. 6 and a half
Red line doesn't mean much.. It's just a "safty" warning. I took my EA81dc to 8K, and it's still happy.... well it needs a rebuild, but still for a 250,000km motor.. Maybe you get less predestination with better fuel control?

How many converts here?
I'm still Subie'in myself but, I hope this is ok... My brother bought this to replace his 83 wagon a couple of weeks back. It's an 84 2.4L Diesel 4Runner, solid front axle. It has 2.5" suspension lift, snorkle, and a few other things Fitted another bullbar, and a winch. His looking to get new tires soon. Two lockers are on their way from the states. He also put the CB in it and is going to be fitting some spot lights, maybe his 220mm Bull lamps...

What plug's do you think are best for the EA82 Loyale motor??
Any brand, any kind. I've never had a problem with any plugs I've had in my EA81.. That said, I'm putting NGK's in my EJ22 because they were cheaper then bosch.

Clutch upgrade for early 90's Leg?
Phizinza replied to Phizinza's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThis is in my Brat, but I have the EJ22 plus the trans casing and clutch from the Leg (Liberty.) So I only have to look at it being a push type, ok, sweet. I want to replace mine because I believe either one of the fingers is broken, the flywheel warped or the plate is bent, maybe a spring broken. Well anyway basically it's getting clutch wobble and the thrust bearing is squeaking it's head off which is getting on my nerve, so I want a whole new clutch and I'm going to get my flywheel balanced and lightened I reckon.

New Paint Job.
Well my brothers wagon cost him $250... So two coats with no sanding done his quite alright He done a good job at matching the paint color (he works at the hardware store so he mixed it himself.)

EA82 DOJs on EA81
The ball joint stays EA81, you just swap in the EA82 cup. Most of the EA82 shafts have a CV on the outter, so if you get the cups from the diff side (which I think fit on both sides of the EA81 shaft) then you get more extension out of them because the EA82 cups are longer.

Brought a Tear to My Eye
I feel sorry for you guys... The biggest bit of rust on my car is about 4cm long and 1cm high, and theres only 2 other spots that are worth talking about anyhow...

New Paint Job.
You think thats bad, my brother used a paint roller on his 83 wagon :-p Doesn't look to bad really, just a little textured and not shiny... I think I'll do my hood and roof properly, I know a panel beater.

it Refuses to Start!
Probably a bit late. But when I put the new ignition switch in my Brat it doesn't like to start the car, goes to ignition then when turned to start it only works 1 out of 10 times. I've hooked up a push button start now so I just turn the key to ignition and hold the button down. Works good.

ER-27 from XT6 into GL10 Wagon
EZ30, doesn't that have a built in immobilizer that is REALLY hardto by pass and won't work unless it sits in it's original body or something weird like that? Although it does use cam chains  ER27 uses the same gearbox pattern, plus the same mounts I believe. So you don't really need to modify anything to put it in except the radiator. Very easy. But you better have a FT4WD box or else that thing is going to be a FWD burnout king.

i want to know more (ej22 carbed)
The wiring looks scary, and when your doing it its' scary. But it isn't really hard. I know I'm good with wires and all that (kinda had a thing for electronics a couple of years back) but it only took probably a total of 16 hours to remove the harness and cut it done. Add another 6 hours for looking all over the net for things I needed to know and asking people questions. I look forward to doing my next loom cut down as maybe I'll be able to do a good write up on it. I can see however why people want to carb. It simplifies things to no end. None of these silly codes popping up all the time. But the power throughout the power band on the EFI 22 is just awesome. I don't think it would be very easy at all to get a carb to do the same thing.

Clutch upgrade for early 90's Leg?
What sort of clutch upgrade can I do for an early 90's leg with a 2.2? Would a WRX clutch fit, and would it be any better? What years are compatible? Thanks.

It Finally Lives!!
Those front tires look beefy for low profiles... Looks pretty mean. Your not going to have a problem with the law and the tires sticking out where you are are you? Just a thought.

ER-27 from XT6 into GL10 Wagon
possibly get a fork lift radiator as these are square and boxy with like 9 or 11 cores. Might fit behind one of the lights? Just a thought

EA82 front brakes on EA81
So vented EA82 front brakes are bigger then vented EA81 front brakes? I know the solid ones are smaller but never compared vented with vented. Interesting.

Serious project..
Some EA81's (Brats, Brumby's, etc) did. If you want to put power steering in a Brumby you will need an EA81 P/S rack and pump. Although if you use an EA82 or EJ you can use their pumps. Even in RHD vehicles I think you can fit the pipes using either the EJ or EA ones.

I HAD to show this to everyone here... *PICS*
Haha, awesome! Any chance of getting one in a Brat form?

L series: what lift do i need to run 31"s?
If you go with a manual EJ AWD box you might want to look into fitting the pinion and front diff of a 4.44 box into a Liberty D/R box running L series low range. This should work just as long as the pinion on 4.44 boxes is the same fitment onto the centre diff as the 3.9 box. This would help a LOT with your 31" tyres.
