  1. plan to mount the rad where the spare tire was
  2. I have seen to many axles and stubs brake ea82s are stronger then ea81s but ive seen them both brake last time out I saw 4 brake
  3. it has started thanks Soobiedoo might call this one "the Red Barron" got the car in the shop its my original Red one and all the doors fenders hood and glass removed looks like its going to get a 4" lift , wondering how short I should go on the wheelbase, what do you guys think?
  4. the weak link is the axles that said I wouldnt go threw all the work to get lower gears, yes I have done it , I have found that a good EJ stuffed under the hood and some 27" tires solves the low gear issue and is alot more easier if you want lower gears and bigger tires get some stronger axles ( probably not Subaru), if I did do it again I think the reduction should be between the engine a EJ or course and the stock dual range maybe a wide toothed belt like they use on the airplane prop shaft reduction setups
  5. heres some inspiration
  6. any progress ??
  7. bigo1966 i like that buggy,. if you did it again what would you do different, did you have lift blocks on the front?
  8. Original red car with the stock EA82 FI if we do it your going to the dunes right?
  9. correct 2 ways are wrong and also on a EA82 they are different from left side to right side
  10. on a EA81 standing outside next to the fender the "SJR" in rightside up on a EA82 they are marked with black felt pen with how they mount and also standing at front bumper looking under the hood the "SJR " is rightside up
  11. 3 years ago I made the Blue bomber a striped down EA82 wagon with 2" lift and swampers went great , well I want to do it again but lighter and shorter I have all the stuff to do it just need to get on it then off to the dunes heres a picture I modifed to what I want but with a rollbar OK those going to help me make this buggy? I want it done in a month
  12. it has no D/R in it thats a rumor. if your in no hurry I could do the EJ lift as its something Ive discontinued
  13. Tom glad to see you got it installed, I would like to use your pictures for my online store if I could thanks Scott
  14. if you do the D/R swap and LSD or lock the rear and strengthen then arms you will have a real nice all around car, I prefer the legacy Gen1 over the ea82 for a all around road/ rally car, the weight will really only be a factor on steep gnarly trails , if you dont mind all the work , and that Toyota could always give you a yank
  15. I have wheeled both the Ea82 with dual range and the Legacy sedan , would take the Ea82 over the legacey anyday, reasons EA82 true 4x4 tranny seperates front and rear wheels lighter Legacy 1 wheel spins and your stuck heavier front lower A arm weak will bend if you want a legacy buy my sedan its already lifted 4" if you want a wheeler lock the rear diff lighten the car go 26" tires or put a EJ in it if you want to wheel with the toyota , get a toyota or small import pickup or suzuki ...
  16. Heres my favorite before I banged it up and later white car 3-1/2" lift Maroon 2" lift
  17. how bout " Broken Axles R US "
  18. EJ strut lift parts clearing them out , will get pics and prices up, I had a bunch of parts made up but Im going to drop the EJ stuff so want to sell out, fits Gen1 legacy struts , check back again
  19. progress got the engine mounts all welded up , now to design the frontend , might end up looking like a old WW2 Army Truck
  20. I make lift kits and parts too
  21. I would uhook the lower ball joint, and drop the whole thing down, but it shouldnt be that bad, is it a stock EA82 or?
  22. Thank You Mike tell me more about the on streetableness and also what rims tires you runnin ? and thanks again
