I want to build up another carbed EJ 2.2 , the last one I used a ford Escort distributer , would like to use something else on this build, the escorts not sealed very exposed to water amd mud, would like to find something thats simple and sealed , maybe even ditch the disty and go something electronic what works? what have you guys seen or ran? I can machine somthiun up but woukld like a more bolt on with slight mod job, maybe even rin it off the front of the cam and not the back side

  6. Jeff this is how I fixed the non dash in my white wheeler I carry with me full then when the car quits I dump it in and head for the gas station works every time

I picked up a EJ 2.2 with single exhast port heads I also have have the dual port EJ 2.2 enginge would like to make a carbed engine with good offroad lowend torque what are the differences in those heads and cams and which should I go with ? are they the same just different exhast casting? or ??
  8. Ive used a single HSS 14 mm drill bit on many sets of front hubs and rear drums key is speed and oil
  9. took it out again today, fun little car, this week plan to: add a tow bar, ( Eric you want 1 we can do 2 at a time) shorten the rear driveshaft 12" right now its missing tighty up the dash figure out why the turn signals dont work add CB add big 9' anntenna for Dunes flag add a couple Ammo storage boxes make a fiberglass roof add more seat belts change out the tires / wheels still looking for some All Terrains hopefully some more paint

  11. got it road worhty and drove into town tonight, I really like the car goes down the road fine, drove threw and got a burger and had some ice cream , been working on it pretty steddy for 2 weeks , should be ready for our sandlake dunes trip in a week , need to add a towbar , wondering what the thing weighs should get it on a scale and see ,
  12. no, but the back drums are longer then the front discs I use a 14mm drill bit to drill holes , go the pull a part or a parts car with a hammer and a nut and pound out a few

  14. cage isnt finished yet , also the thing is so light has less stress then the stock weight
  15. the doors are gutted basically just the outer shell, will keep people in ,,,and mud and sand and water out , front fenders will be modified

  17. if you have 2' centers grab a 4 x4 or similar and put it on top of 3 or 4 trusses perpendicular to them , this will distribute the load over them all and not just 1

We are going to the Oregon coast week of Aug 10-14 plans are to play on the sandlake dunes just below tillimook, fly kites on the beach , run out into the ocean and get cold, swim in the hotel swimming pool , go out to eat alot , and then end the trip visiting my sister near newberg maybe even hit some local offroad trails , so dont have a shedule yet but got the whole week to play , will be taking the Duner Module towed behind the legacy of maybe the Dakota anyone interested and want to play would like to meet up chime in
